For the Hydro-Puzzle Chief Engineer office safe in Dying Light: The Beast, enter 27-01-15. It contains the Chief Engineer key needed to progress toward the sewers. The optional sewer-stash safe is separate and uses 21-69-35.
Where to find the Hydro-Puzzle office safe
Hydro-Puzzle is a side quest about investigating water pressure and restoring water access. A walkthrough places its availability around the “New Strain” main-story mission. The quest leads you to check pressure at the Pumping Station, then investigate the Waterworks repair facility in Old Town.
Look for the safe in the Chief Engineer/Payroll Manager office area. The code clue is described as an incident report or note nearby, with one walkthrough placing it in a locked room farther down the hall and another describing a letter on a table in the next room. If you are following the quest, use the office and nearby rooms as your search area.
Enter the code and use the key
- Go to the safe in the Chief Engineer office area at the Waterworks repair facility.
- Enter 27-01-15.
- Take the Chief Engineer key and continue toward sewer access.
Do not confuse it with the sewer-stash safe
The optional stash safe in the sewers is a different container with a different code. Its clue is reportedly revealed by shining UV light on a wall.

One community guide gives 27-01-06 for a Hydro-Puzzle incident-report safe. Other guide coverage identifies 27-01-15 for the Chief Engineer office safe, while listing 21-69-35 for the separate sewer stash. The available guides do not establish whether 27-01-06 refers to another safe, a version difference, or an error. For the Chief Engineer office safe, the reported code is 27-01-15.
