First, identify what is failing
Note whether Solo Battles is greyed out, the opponent list is missing, or the game shows an error such as “Our servers cannot process your request.” Also check whether other online modes work. These details help distinguish a broader service or connection issue from one limited to Solo Battles.

- Solo Battles and other online modes fail: check EA and platform service status first.
- Only Solo Battles fails: check for mode-specific service notices, then continue with updates, restart, and account checks. A mode-specific service problem can still be responsible even when other modes work.
- The mode is gated or opponents are missing: treat service status or maintenance as an early possibility rather than assuming your console or network is at fault.
Check EA and platform service status
EA’s current Madden server-status and connection guide recommends checking both Madden services and the platform’s online services. EA says an outage or maintenance can prevent connection until service is restored. Look for an official notice and, when possible, reports from multiple players with the same symptom.
There is an important version limitation: EA’s currently maintained status guidance names Madden NFL 27, not Madden NFL 24. It is useful for general Madden connection checks, but it does not establish whether Solo Battles in Madden NFL 24 is available right now. The available evidence also cannot confirm Madden NFL 24 mode availability for a particular platform in October 2026. If there is a current outage or maintenance notice, wait for service restoration and try again before making local changes.

Update the game and restart your setup
- Install available updates for Madden NFL 24, your console or PC operating system, and—on PC—the game launcher you use.
- Fully close Madden and reopen it. If the issue remains, restart the console or PC rather than only returning to the game’s menu.
- Restart your modem and router. Once the network is back online, launch Madden and try Solo Battles again.
- Test the connection. Use your platform’s built-in connection test if available. If practical, temporarily connect by wired Ethernet to see whether Wi-Fi is contributing to the problem.
These are general connection steps from EA’s Madden guidance; they are not a guaranteed fix for a Madden NFL 24-specific mode defect.
Verify platform and EA Account access
- Confirm your platform’s online services are available and that your account can use online play.
- Check that the platform account is linked to the EA Account you intend to use.
- Depending on the platform, an online subscription may be required. Verify the requirement for your Madden NFL 24 platform instead of relying on newer platform references in EA’s general guide.
Try the cache or game-file steps for your platform
On PC
If other online checks look normal but Madden still returns a server or request error, repair or verify the game files using the launcher where you installed it—EA app, Epic Games Launcher, or Steam. The menu labels differ by launcher, so use its built-in repair or file-verification option. If you use the EA app, clearing its cache is another troubleshooting step described in an EA forum support reply. These steps may help with a local client problem, but they are not a confirmed cure for a server-side or mode-side issue.

Use the launcher’s own tools; do not delete arbitrary game, account, or configuration files.
On console
EA’s general Madden connection guidance suggests clearing the platform cache as a possible connection troubleshooting step. Follow the cache-clearing instructions for your specific console model. Avoid deleting saved data or account files unless platform or EA support specifically directs you to do so.

When to stop troubleshooting and contact EA
Stop repeating local resets if official services are down or maintenance is underway; wait and retry when service is restored. If services appear available and the steps above do not help—especially if only Solo Battles is affected—contact EA through the Madden NFL 24 support page. Include:
- Your platform and the time the problem started.
- The exact error text, or a description of whether the mode is greyed out or opponents are missing.
- Whether other online modes work.
- The updates, restarts, connection tests, and platform-specific steps you have tried.
- A screenshot or short video of the symptom, if available.
Past Madden NFL 24 forum reports describe “Our servers cannot process your request” affecting H2H and Solo Battles, missing Solo Battles opponents, and emergency maintenance that gated the mode on Microsoft platforms. These are historical examples, not proof of a current outage or a diagnosis of your account. They show why checking service and mode status first is sensible, but the cited sources do not establish a guaranteed Madden NFL 24 Solo Battles fix.
