To change the global race difficulty in Gran Turismo 7, open GT Menu > Options > Global Options > Race Difficulty, then select Easy, Normal, or Hard. You can change it at any time; it adjusts rival-car skill in World Circuits races and does not change race prize money.
Change the global race difficulty
- From the GT Menu, select Options.
- Open Global Options.
- Select Race Difficulty.
- Choose Easy, Normal, or Hard.
The Gran Turismo 7 Online Manual says this setting can be changed at any time.

What the setting changes
Global Race Difficulty changes the skill level of rival cars in World Circuits races. The manual describes Easy as recommended for beginners, Normal as the standard setting, and Hard as recommended for more experienced players. Changing this global setting does not affect the prize money won from races.
Global difficulty and Quick Race rewards are different
World Circuits Quick Race has its own difficulty selection flow. Its manual page says selecting a higher difficulty can yield more prize credits and shows the chance of a bonus. That race-specific reward guidance is separate from the global Race Difficulty setting, which does not change race prize money.
