Not as a persistent account-wide avatar using Roblox’s documented free Avatar Editor controls. Those controls let you equip or remove items and change skin colors, but Roblox’s official instructions do not show an invisibility switch. You may appear invisible in a particular experience if that game provides an invisibility mechanic or its creator changes character appearance; that does not make your Roblox avatar invisible everywhere.
What the Avatar Editor can—and cannot—do
Roblox Support documents changing your avatar’s appearance by equipping or removing available items and changing skin tone for the whole avatar or individual body parts. Its instructions do not document a free setting that makes the persistent account avatar invisible. You can follow the official Avatar Editor instructions to make supported appearance changes, but those controls are not an invisibility feature.
Changing a body-part color to resemble a game’s background may help the avatar blend in, but this is camouflage, not transparency. Whether it blends in depends on the experience’s environment and lighting; color matching does not hide the avatar in other games.
Why invisible avatar body parts are not a supported workaround
In an October 26, 2023 Developer Forum announcement about avatar bodies, Roblox stated: “To clarify, avatar body parts must be fully opaque.” The announcement also gave minimum mesh-occupancy thresholds: the torso, left arm, and right leg must occupy at least 50% of their bounding box, and the head at least 35% of its mesh bounding box. For that reason, do not rely on listings or third-party claims that promise invisible body parts as an endorsed way to customize an account avatar. Roblox’s published opacity requirement does not support treating transparent body assets as a legitimate account-wide solution.
How to become invisible in one Roblox game
A game can change how your character looks while you are playing in that experience. This is separate from changing the avatar saved to your account.

- As a player: Look for an in-game invisibility ability, item, setting, or game mode. Availability and rules depend on that experience.
- As a creator: Roblox’s Creator Hub explains that experience avatar settings can control avatar appearance and behavior within a creator’s game, and creators can modify character appearance. Start with the character appearance documentation and character settings documentation. These controls concern the creator’s experience, not a player’s persistent avatar across Roblox.
Community Developer Forum posts also show game-specific scripting examples for hiding characters. They are community examples, not instructions for making an account avatar invisible across Roblox; an old script should not be treated as a current platform-wide method.
