You generally can’t remove an active VALORANT suspension yourself. Check the penalty notice for the restriction and expiry time; if you think Riot made a mistake, appeal through Riot Support. Riot says it will not cancel or adjust penalties it considers justified, so an appeal does not guarantee a reversal.
Identify what the penalty actually restricts
“Suspension” can mean different penalties. Riot’s Comms Restrictions and Audio Retention article, published May 31, 2026, describes these effects:
| Penalty | What it restricts |
|---|---|
| Communication restriction | Voice or text chat |
| Teamplay restriction | Most game types, except solo Deathmatch and custom games |
| Game ban | Playing VALORANT |
Read the in-client notice rather than guessing from the word “suspension.” The restriction type determines what you can and cannot do while it is active.
Check the notice for the expiry time
Riot lists durations of 1, 3, 7, 14, or 365 days for the penalty types in its policy. Durations may differ by region, and those listed periods do not determine the outcome for a particular account. Use the end time shown in your account’s notice as the relevant expiry information.

Appeal through Riot Support if you believe it is wrong
- Open Riot’s VALORANT support request form.
- Provide the account and penalty details the form requests.
- Explain briefly why you believe the penalty was applied incorrectly and ask Riot to review it.
Riot’s ticket-submission guidance says justified penalties will not be canceled or adjusted. The specific account’s review outcome is not knowable from public information, and Riot does not provide a universal response-time guarantee in the cited material.

Riot says penalties depend on both offense severity and the account’s current standing, so they may not happen in a fixed order. It also says a game ban can follow a chat restriction if the player continues using offensive language. Better behavior is important for avoiding further penalties, but Riot’s published guidance does not say it shortens an active restriction.
