In VALORANT’s Replication mode, everyone on a team plays the same Agent, selected by a pre-match vote. The mode uses short Spike rounds, fixed round credits and abilities that refresh each round. Access has changed over time: Riot said in January 2023 that the original Replication had left the Modes queue but remained available in custom games. Check the current in-client mode and custom-game menus to see whether it is available now.
How a Replication match works
Riot described Replication as a best-of-nine Spike mode: the first team to win five rounds takes the match. Each round lasts 80 seconds. The pistol round has a 45-second buy phase; later rounds have 30-second buy phases.
Before the match, players vote on an Agent. Once selected, that Agent is used by everyone on the team—for example, one team could be five Sages while the other is five Jetts. The result is a team built around repeating the same Agent’s abilities, rather than a roster of different Agents.
Abilities, credits and equipment
Abilities and ultimate points
Non-ultimate abilities refresh at the start of each round. Players also receive one ultimate point at the start of each round, except in overtime. That cadence makes it possible for the whole team to use the same signature tools repeatedly.

Round credits and resets
Riot’s launch rules set credits by round, regardless of whether a player or their team won or lost. Weapons and shields reset each round, so plan each buy around the credits available rather than expecting equipment to carry over.
| Round | Credits per player |
|---|---|
| First round | 900 |
| Second round | 2,400 |
| Third round | 3,900 |
| Fourth and later rounds | 6,000 |
These are the credit amounts in Riot’s 2021 launch description; the article does not establish whether a later version has changed them.

What Flashguard does
Replication includes Flashguard to limit repeated flashes. If a player is flashed twice within a four-second window, Flashguard activates and prevents that player from being blinded for five seconds.
How to approach the shared-Agent format
Vote with the full team’s repeated utility in mind. Riot’s launch article illustrated the possibilities with five Sage walls and a team of Phoenixes using fire to cover the floor; these are examples of the mode’s premise, not guaranteed optimal tactics. During the match, coordinate abilities and buys so teammates can make use of the same tools, and account for weapons and shields resetting every round.

Is Replication available now?
Availability depends on the client’s current offerings. Riot announced a two-week launch window in May 2021, with the original run ending May 25. A later modes-rotation announcement described modes such as Replication rotating with patch cadence, roughly every two weeks. On January 18, 2023, Riot’s Patch 6.01 notes said Replication was removed from the Modes queue but remained available through the custom-game option. These are historical availability statements, not confirmation of the October 2026 live client state.
Riot’s July 28, 2026 Patch 13.02 notes mention a planned All Random One Site: Replication mode, say it was delayed and remained targeted for a future release. That is a distinct mode and does not establish that either it or the original Replication is currently playable. Check the in-client mode and custom-game menus for current access.
