To start Curie’s personal quest, Emergent Behavior, complete Hole in the Wall in Vault 81, recruit Curie, and build her affinity to about 250. Then speak with her if she does not bring it up on her own. You can start the quest before its next step is available: completing Dangerous Minds unlocks the stage where Doctor Amari can help Curie.
1. Complete Hole in the Wall and recruit Curie
Curie is encountered during Hole in the Wall, the Vault 81 quest. Complete it, then recruit her as a companion so she can travel with you and her affinity can increase. IGN’s Vault 81 guide covers the quest and its outcome.

2. Build Curie’s affinity and talk to her
Travel with Curie and take actions she approves of. The quest reference reports that she raises her request at an affinity value of about 250; the dialogue may not appear at the exact same moment in every save. If she does not initiate the conversation, use the Talk command and speak with her. Her request begins Emergent Behavior: she wants help moving from her robot form into a synth body. 3. If Curie asks for help but the quest stops
The conversation can start before Doctor Amari is ready to perform the procedure. If the objective asks you to find someone to help Curie but you cannot advance it with Amari, finish Dangerous Minds first. Then take Curie to Doctor Amari at the Memory Den in Goodneighbor. Completing the Memory Den freeform activity is another way to locate Amari, according to Prima Games’ Curie quest guide.

4. What to expect at the Memory Den
Emergent Behavior proceeds through finding help, bringing Curie to Amari, waiting for Amari, talking to the caretaker, watching the download procedure, and speaking with Curie afterward. Amari needs 24 in-game hours to arrange the procedure, so wait and return to the Memory Den. A caretaker—Glory or another Railroad member, depending on quest progression—handles consent for using G5-19’s body, as described in Prima Games’ guide.
