If you do not have a PC or 3DS-family system, the evidence here does not support a dependable alternative for playing the original game on your existing devices. Avoid treating an emulator listing as proof that you can play, or as a source for the game itself.
What about Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream?
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a separate successor for Nintendo’s Switch successor, not a way to run the original 3DS game without 3DS hardware. A 2026 TechRadar report describes transferring a Mii from a 3DS to the newer game using an amiibo; it says a separate Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer is needed if the 3DS used for the transfer lacks built-in NFC. Consider the successor only if you are open to a different game and already have, or plan to get, compatible newer hardware. It is not established here as an equivalent substitute for the original.
