Activision confirms the Armory feature and the weapon’s original event-reward status, but the available sources do not verify that this specific challenge is still available in 2026. Check the Armory in your game before relying on this route.
How to unlock the Power Drill
- In Black Ops 6, open Barracks > Challenges to reach the Armory. Activision documented this route in its Season 01 announcement.
- Look for the Power Drill Armory Challenge and set it as active. Game8 reports this activation step; Activision’s announcement confirms the Armory generally, not this weapon-specific challenge.
- Earn the reported 250,000 XP. Game8 says XP can be earned across game modes. The amount comes from its 2025 guide and is not substantiated by the official sources cited here: Game8’s Power Drill unlock guide.
If you cannot find the challenge, check the current in-game Armory and content status. The sources available do not establish whether the challenge remains available on October 8, 2026, or whether the menu path has changed.

Why the Power Drill may not appear as an event reward
Activision introduced the Power Drill as a Season 01 in-season event reward for Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Its original event context was Merry Mayhem, an XP reward track available across those modes. Activision listed the event dates as December 5–19, 2024 in its Season 01 Reloaded announcement. Game8 later reported the Armory Challenge route for players seeking the weapon after the event period, but that does not confirm the challenge’s current status.
What the Power Drill is like
Activision describes the weapon as a “Two-hit kill. Very short range. Very fast attack speed.” Its listed move set includes sweeps, jabs, uppercuts, and a heavy drill-forward attack. The official listing gives it 30 weapon levels, no attachments, and skins as its customization option.

- Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
- In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
For a basic comparison, Activision describes the Season 01 Cleaver as a one-hit kill with short-to-medium range and medium attack speed. The listed trade-off is reach and hits to kill versus attack speed; these are seasonal descriptions, not a current competitive-meta comparison.
