Kingdom Come: Deliverance II recouped its development cost within about 24 hours of release, according to Warhorse creative director Daniel Vávra. Embracer Group separately reported that the game sold more than one million copies in its first 24 hours. That supports the claim that development costs were covered; it does not establish a precise net-profit figure.
What did Warhorse say about day-one profitability?
In a February 6, 2025 interview with Czech outlet SZ Byznys, Warhorse creative director Daniel Vávra said that sales to that point had already paid for the development of the entire game. That is an English translation of his Czech statement, “dosavadní prodeje už zaplatily vývoj celé hry.” The outlet’s headline likewise said the game had earned back its cost on the first day.

The claim is about recovering development costs, not a disclosed accounting measure of net profit. The interview does not provide an audited title-level profit-and-loss figure or specify whether the calculation includes marketing, platform fees, taxes, publisher costs, or other expenses. It therefore supports saying the game had paid back its development cost, but not assigning it a profit margin or total profit amount.
How many copies did Kingdom Come: Deliverance II sell in 24 hours?
Embracer Group’s February 13, 2025 interim report said the game sold more than one million copies in its first 24 hours. The report also said it was approaching two million copies at that point and had passed 250,000 peak concurrent players on Steam. The concurrent-player figure is a Steam measure, not a sales count.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II launched on February 4, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, according to the official launch announcement. Embracer identified Warhorse Studios as developer and Deep Silver as publisher in its report.

Embracer’s May 22, 2025 year-end report recorded more than two million copies sold in less than two weeks and more than three million within three months. These later milestones show how sales continued after the first-day cost-recovery statement; they do not, by themselves, reveal the game’s net profit.
