To unlock its recipe, defeat Black Loong or Red Loong, then open a nearby chest using the Loong Scales key item. The listed crafting materials conflict across guides, so check the recipe at a Shrine before gathering everything.
Loongwreathe Staff stats and effect
Game8 lists the Loongwreathe Staff as an Epic staff with 70 damage. Its unique effect is described as: “Moderately increases the damage dealt by all Pillar Stance moves.” This is Game8’s guide wording, not an official developer quote. The effect makes the weapon particularly relevant if you rely on Pillar Stance, but the available sources do not establish a tested damage ranking against other staffs.
How to unlock the Loongwreathe Staff recipe
- Defeat either Black Loong in Yellow Wind Ridge or Red Loong in Black Wind Mountain.
- Open the nearby chest with the Loong Scales key item. Game8 says opening this chest unlocks the recipe.
- Visit any Shrine to craft the staff once the recipe is available.
These unlock steps are reported by Game8’s Loongwreathe Staff guide.
Crafting materials: check the Shrine recipe
Game8 lists the following recipe:
- Thunder Tail ×1
- Thunderbone ×1
- Refined Iron Sand ×4
- Yaoguai Core ×8
- 21,000 Will
There is a material discrepancy: Gamer Guides lists Samadhi Wind Agate as the unique material instead of Thunder Tail and Thunderbone, while retaining the same Refined Iron Sand and Yaoguai Core quantities. The community-maintained wiki also reports Thunder Tail and Thunderbone, linking those materials to Red Loong and Black Loong chests. Because the sources disagree, use the recipe shown at a Shrine in your current game rather than relying on a guide’s material list.

Game8 places Loongwreathe Staff in the Willow Wood Staff weapon tree. Gamer Guides reports that Golden Loong Staff is crafted as an upgrade to Loongwreathe Staff after defeating the optional Cyan Loong on Turtle Island in Chapter 3. The available information does not provide a full comparison of their damage, effects, or performance, so treat that link as a progression route rather than proof that one staff is the better choice for every build.
