Lord of Blood’s Favor is a quest item in Elden Ring, not equipment. White-Faced Varré gives you a pure white oath-cloth and asks you to soak it in a maiden’s blood. Once it is reddened, take it back to Varré to continue his quest.
What is Lord of Blood’s Favor?
It is the cloth Varré gives you as part of his trial for becoming a knight of Mohg, Lord of Blood. Its purpose is to be soaked in a maiden’s blood and returned; it is not a weapon, armor piece, or repeat-use item.
Varré’s instruction reads: “Soak the cloth with a maiden’s blood… The blood of anyone’s maiden will do. You are maidenless, after all.” The item begins as pure white. After the interaction, its soaked description identifies it as a “Fully reddened oath-cloth, dyed in a maiden’s blood.”
How to get and use the cloth
- Advance White-Faced Varré’s quest until he gives you Lord of Blood’s Favor. The walkthrough by Game8 describes an invasion step before receiving the cloth; it reports that defeating the invaded host is not necessary for that requirement.
- Take the white cloth to a Finger Maiden’s corpse and interact with it to soak the cloth. Game8 lists the Church of Inhibition and the Chapel of Anticipation as locations for this step.
- Return to Varré with the reddened cloth. Eldenpedia’s soaked-item entry says presenting it continues the quest.
Where can you soak Lord of Blood’s Favor?
The walkthrough reports two options. Choose based on which area you can reach; neither location is established as universally easier for every player.
