At QuakeCon 2024, Bethesda’s headline DOOM announcement was DOOM + DOOM II, a combined release that brought the original games together with enhanced versions, classic add-ons, new content, and modern multiplayer features. The roundup also covered the DOOM Anthology collectible, a planned physical SNES cartridge, DOOM Eternal on Epic Games Store, modding tools, and a QuakeCon sale. These are August 2024 announcements—not a guide to what is currently in stock or on sale.
What did Bethesda announce at QuakeCon 2024?
Paul Thurrott’s August 9, 2024 roundup focused on several DOOM-related announcements. The central news was the release of DOOM + DOOM II. Alongside it, the roundup reported a physical DOOM Anthology, a Limited Run Games partnership for a Super Nintendo cartridge, DOOM Eternal arriving on Epic Games Store, new modding efforts, and a sale spanning Bethesda games. Thurrott’s original roundup is a record of what was reported at the time; its sale and availability details should not be read as current offers.

What is included in DOOM + DOOM II?
The release combines DOOM and DOOM II, including enhanced versions and a substantial collection of additional content. Bethesda’s release notes list these included episodes and packs:

- TNT: Evilution
- The Plutonia Experiment
- No Rest for the Living
- SIGIL
- Legacy of Rust, a new episode developed in collaboration by people from id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames
- A new Deathmatch map pack
The package also adds online co-op and Deathmatch, cross-platform play, community mods, and performance and accessibility features. Bethesda’s August 2024 release notes specify online matches for up to 16 players. They also describe four-player split-screen across platforms and eight-player split-screen on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The release supports high-resolution, high-refresh-rate rendering and offers the optional IDKFA soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult. See the full Bethesda release notes for platform-specific details.
