No. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS does not support cross-play between Xbox and PC, so players on those platforms cannot join the same matchmaking pool. Cross-play is supported within two separate groups: Steam and Epic Games Store on PC, and Xbox and PlayStation on console.
Which PUBG platforms can play together?

PUBG’s official matchmaking developer letter, published April 16, 2024, says cross-platform play is supported between Steam and Epic Games Store on PC and between Xbox and PlayStation on console. It describes PC and console matchmaking as separate.
Does the current Xbox generation change the answer?
No. PUBG Console moved to current-generation hardware after maintenance on November 13, 2025. The game is supported on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ended. This change did not add cross-play between console and PC. PUBG’s console service update says account data and purchased items are preserved for players who continue on a supported console.
Do console graphics modes affect matchmaking?
No. PUBG’s July 8, 2026 console experience roadmap lists graphics modes for Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro. It says players using different graphics modes can still play together in the same matches. That applies to console players; it does not indicate console-to-PC cross-play.

What this means when choosing a platform
- If you want to play with a friend on Xbox, you need to play the console version on Xbox or PlayStation.
- If you want to play with a friend on PC, use the PC version through Steam or the Epic Games Store.
- Changing hardware, graphics settings, or storefront cannot bridge the PC-console matchmaking separation.
