What happened to the Scarface PC re-release?
EC Digital Entertainment announced a PC re-release for Steam and Epic Games Store on October 22, 2025. The Epic listing briefly appeared live; the publisher said it had been pushed live unintentionally during backend configuration. Gematsu reported the announcement and the publisher’s explanation.

In a Steam community notice dated October 22, 2025, EC Digital said the page had initially been intended as a placeholder while it worked through licensing and technical matters. The publisher said unintended releases of builds on other platforms had caused complications, and that it would pause and reevaluate the project. Its notice said: “If things change and we’re able to bring the project back in the future, we’ll let you know right away.”
PC Gamer reported on October 23, 2025 that the Steam and Epic listings had disappeared. That confirms the immediate storefront change, not that the project is permanently cancelled. The sources cited here establish no confirmed launch date, resolved licensing status, or subsequent return to either store.

What was the announced HD graphics mode?
The planned PC edition was described as including an optional high-definition graphics mode delivered as free downloadable content. The announcement said AI-assisted techniques would improve certain visual elements and that players could switch between original and enhanced visuals. No released version was tested in the reporting cited here, so there is no basis to treat the mode as delivered or to make claims about its quality or performance.
Gematsu and PC Gamer also reported that the early Epic build appeared to include SilentPatch and Fusion Fix. That observation concerns the build that appeared during the brief listing; it does not guarantee those modifications would be included in any future release.

Is this a new Scarface game?
No. This was a proposed PC re-release of Scarface: The World Is Yours, the open-world action-adventure game that first launched on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC in 2006, then on Wii in 2007, according to Gematsu. It is distinct from a new game in the Scarface franchise.

The original PS2 edition is a separate physical version, not the proposed PC relaunch and not a way to get its planned HD mode. If searching for a copy, use a query such as “Scarface: The World Is Yours PS2 game” and check the seller’s condition details and the disc’s regional compatibility. Current stock, prices, and availability have not been verified here.

What remains unknown?
- Whether the project will return to Steam or Epic Games Store.
- Whether licensing matters have been resolved or what the final rights status is.
- Whether a future release would include the proposed HD mode or the modifications reported in the early build.
- Whether the re-release would support Windows 10 or Windows 11; the publisher’s notice does not answer that question.
