Lenovo Legion is Lenovo’s gaming brand and ecosystem—not a single laptop model. It covers gaming PCs and peripherals, with Lenovo also describing software and services as part of the ecosystem. The name “Legion” can refer to other things, so this guide uses it specifically to mean Lenovo Legion.
What is Lenovo Legion?
Lenovo describes Legion as a brand built around gaming. Its brand definition is “Inspiring gaming breakthroughs for all,” while its US Legion page uses the positioning line “REACH YOUR IMPOSSIBLE.” Those are brand statements, not promises of particular performance or features.
The range is broader than laptops: Lenovo’s ecosystem description includes gaming PCs and peripherals, as well as software and services. The right fit therefore depends not only on the computer, but also on the configuration and the rest of the setup.
What products does the Legion ecosystem include?
Lenovo’s official Legion page is the place to check its current product offerings. The company’s January 8, 2024 ecosystem announcement named the Legion 9i, 7i, 5i, and Slim 5 (16-inch, ninth-generation) among the PC lineup announced at that time. That announcement is historical; it does not establish that those models are still current, in stock, or sold in every region.

Lenovo positions Legion devices for gaming and content-creation pursuits. That broad positioning does not establish how a particular configuration performs in a specific game or creative application, so compare exact specifications and seek relevant independent testing before making a performance-based choice.

- List your workloads. Identify the games and non-gaming applications you use, and look for evidence or testing relevant to those exact workloads.
- Set portability priorities. Decide how often you will carry the laptop and what trade-offs you are willing to make for a gaming setup. Compare the exact device dimensions and configuration on Lenovo’s product listing.
- Check the full configuration. Confirm the model number and the specifications of the particular listing you are considering. Do not assume that similarly named models, generations, or regional versions are identical.
- Account for your setup. Consider whether you need peripherals and other accessories, and verify compatibility with the specific device before buying.
