The official PlayStation listing identifies it as a PS4 game that is playable on PS5; it does not identify a separate native PS5 edition.
Is there a native PS5 version of Stardew Valley?
The PlayStation Store lists Stardew Valley for PS4 and says it is playable on PS5. That means the PS4 release runs on the newer console through backward compatibility, rather than as a separately listed PS5 edition. See the Stardew Valley for PS4 listing for the current US product details.

The Store cautions that some features available on PS4 may be absent on PS5. PlayStation also notes that a small number of PS4 games may show errors or behave unexpectedly on PS5, so keep the console’s system software up to date. Its PS5 backward-compatibility guidance explains the general limitations.
How to play your PS4 copy on PS5
Digital copy
- On your PS5, open Game Library.
- Select Stardew Valley from your games. If it is not installed, select it and download it.
- Launch the game once installation is complete.
PS4 disc
- Insert the disc into a PS5 model with a disc drive.
- Install the game if prompted, then launch it with the disc still inserted.
A PS4 disc cannot be used on PS5 Digital Edition, which has no disc drive. These steps follow PlayStation’s installation and compatibility instructions; they do not establish that a physical disc edition of Stardew Valley is currently available.

Can you play Stardew Valley online on PS5?
The Store listing says online play is optional and supports up to four players. PlayStation Plus is required for online play. ConcernedApe’s official factsheet describes multiplayer as inviting one to three other players to join a farm on supported platforms, including PS4.
What is Stardew Valley?
Stardew Valley is ConcernedApe’s open-ended country-life RPG, combining farming with relationships, crafting, exploration, and community activities. The PS4 version was released in December 2016, and the developer’s platform list identifies PlayStation support as PS4.

Store prices and availability can change and vary by region, so confirm the price shown for your account before buying. The developer reported 41 million copies sold across all platforms as of December 2024; that total does not break out PS4 or PS5 sales.
