Friendly fire is recognized by Activision as something that can occur in COD Mobile, but its official documentation does not say which current modes let you damage teammates. Whether you can shoot or kill a teammate depends on the rules of the mode or lobby you are playing; check those rules in the live game rather than assuming one setting applies everywhere.
Can you shoot your teammates in COD Mobile?
Activision’s COD Mobile Security & Enforcement Policy names “intentional friendly fire” as an example of griefing. That establishes that intentional team damage is a recognized conduct issue, but it does not provide a current, mode-by-mode explanation of whether teammate damage is enabled or whether it can be lethal.
Activision’s Multiplayer overview describes modes including Frontline, Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Search & Destroy, but does not state whether teammates can hurt one another. Its mode list was published in 2019, so it should not be treated as a complete guide to the current lineup.
Does friendly fire work the same in every mode?
That is not established by the official sources cited here. Activision describes COD Mobile as including team-based Multiplayer and Battle Royale, but does not publish a general friendly-fire rule covering every mode, region, or current playlist. Do not assume that a rule you encounter in one match applies to another.

For a private or tournament match, Activision’s esports settings page explains that private matches can be configured by a host for tournament play. It does not confirm a friendly-fire toggle for ordinary private lobbies, so check the settings and rules presented in your own lobby.
What happens if you intentionally damage teammates?
Activision says a player who purposefully prevents another player from playing as intended through an exploit or repeated unsportsmanlike behavior, “such as intentional friendly fire,” is subject to enforcement. The policy lists temporary restrictions for a first offense and possible permanent suspension for extreme or repeat offenses.

This is a warning about deliberate or repeated misconduct, not a claim that every accidental hit or isolated mistake will be punished. If teammates are deliberately sabotaging a match, use the in-game reporting options and follow the current policy.

How to check the rule before playing
- Select the mode or lobby first. Look at the in-game mode rules and any custom-match settings before the match begins.
- For a private match, check the host’s settings. Do not assume tournament settings or rules apply to every private lobby.
- If the interface does not say, treat the rule as unknown. The cited official pages do not provide a universal current answer about teammate damage, so test only in a suitable private setting or ask the lobby host.
