Get more items with /give
The official command guide gives the form /give <player> <item> [amount]. For example, /give @s minecraft:diamond 10 requests 10 diamonds for the executing player. The guide’s example uses a player name; @s is a common self selector, but confirm it works in your edition and command context. Minecraft command guide.
/give supplies the item type and amount you specify. It is not a way to duplicate an existing item while preserving custom names, enchantments, or other item-specific state.
Copy a build with /clone
/clone copies blocks from a defined source region to a destination. You need the source region’s coordinates and the destination coordinates; the exact command form depends on edition and version, so use in-game autocomplete or documentation for your target version rather than relying on one universal syntax.

For Java Edition 1.19.4, Mojang documented this form: /clone [from <sourceDimension>] <begin> <end> [to <targetDimension>] <destination> .... That release added source- and target-dimension arguments for cloning across dimensions. It is a version-specific reference, not a current syntax guarantee for every edition. Copy an inventory item into a slot in Java
Java’s /item replace <target> from <source> [<modifier>] form copies an item from a source to a target slot. Mojang documented this command form in the Java 1.17 release notes. It handles a specific inventory-slot operation; it is not a general-purpose /duplicate command. Java 1.17 release notes.

Duplicate an Allay through gameplay
In the Bedrock 1.19.10 instructions, an Allay duplicates when it dances near a playing jukebox and receives an Amethyst Shard. Both Allays then have a five-minute cooldown. Mojang’s June 2022 article said the feature had arrived in Bedrock and was planned for Java 1.19.1; those are historical rollout details, so check the documentation for your current version. Commands require permissions. Minecraft’s command guide says Bedrock players can enable cheats in single-player settings, but doing so permanently disables achievements for that world. Java single-player users can enable commands in world settings; on multiplayer servers, you need sufficient permissions from the server. Minecraft command guide.

Official references do not rule out a third-party mod, add-on, server plugin, or datapack that adds a command named /duplicate. Check the documentation for any such extension; it is not a standard command established by the official references cited here.
