Kai Cenat’s Elden Ring marathon drew peaks of more than 172,000 and 187,000 concurrent viewers on separate June 2024 streams, according to TwitchTracker. The streams helped put the game in the spotlight before Shadow of the Erdtree, but the available figures do not isolate Cenat’s effect from anticipation for the expansion’s June 20 launch.
How many people watched Kai Cenat play Elden Ring?
TwitchTracker recorded a peak of 172,278 concurrent viewers during Cenat’s June 21–23, 2024 stream. While he played Elden Ring, those game segments averaged 116,089 viewers. On a separate June 25–26 stream, TwitchTracker recorded a peak of 187,601 concurrent viewers while he was playing the game.
These are figures for Cenat’s individual streams, as reported by TwitchTracker—not official Twitch disclosures or independently audited platform statistics. The first stream’s peak and its Elden Ring-segment average are different measures, so they should not be treated as interchangeable.
How did the streams fit into Elden Ring’s Twitch resurgence?
Cenat’s marathon was one visible contributor to renewed attention around Elden Ring in the run-up to Shadow of the Erdtree. Streams Charts described the game as gaining traction on Twitch ahead of the expansion, and its coverage identified Cenat’s streams as part of that moment. That establishes overlap and reported contribution, not a measured share of the game’s overall audience growth attributable to him.

The expansion’s impending release was also a major reason viewers were returning to the game. The two streams with recorded peaks took place June 21–23 and June 25–26, 2024—after the expansion launched on June 20—so their viewer counts are not themselves pre-release measurements. They show the size of Cenat’s audience during the launch period, rather than proving how many viewers he brought to Elden Ring before launch.
How did Cenat’s audience compare with the Elden Ring category?
Streams Charts reported that on June 20, 2024, the day Shadow of the Erdtree launched, the Elden Ring Twitch category exceeded 657,300 concurrent viewers at its peak and recorded 4.2 million hours watched. Those category-wide numbers describe the audience for the game across Twitch, not Cenat’s personal stream.

The comparison shows both the scale of Cenat’s audience and the larger category’s launch-day reach, but it is not a like-for-like measurement: one set of figures concerns individual streams on later dates, while the other covers the whole category on launch day. Streams Charts’ June roundup also said Cenat led its Twitch channel rankings for a second consecutive month and that his Elden Ring streams were particularly popular. It separately noted his month’s highest single-audience turnout came on a stream with Kevin Hart and Druski, so that turnout should not be attributed to Elden Ring.

- Established: Cenat drew very large audiences while streaming Elden Ring around the expansion’s launch, and Streams Charts reported that his streams were part of the game’s renewed Twitch attention.
- Not established: How much of the category’s growth was caused by Cenat, or how the audience would have changed without his marathon. The reported figures do not provide a controlled before-and-after comparison.
The most accurate conclusion is that Cenat’s marathon helped amplify Elden Ring’s Twitch visibility during a high-interest period, while the expansion launch was another major driver. The individual stream peaks and the category-wide launch-day surge document that moment from different angles; they do not quantify Cenat’s causal impact.
