1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe PS5 is the practical winner for buyers: Sony documents it as a console family with disc and digital options, while the KFConsole is known from a 2020 announcement and no retail release is established in the sources available. The KFConsole remains memorable as a gaming-PC concept with a chicken-warming chamber, but its advertised performance is not a verified benchmark.
Did the KFConsole come out?
A December 2020 announcement, reported by Tom’s Hardware, described the KFConsole as a bucket-shaped gaming PC developed with Cooler Master’s assistance. The sources available here do not establish a consumer release, final retail configuration, price, warranty, or support. That is not proof of cancellation: no official KFC or Cooler Master statement confirming either a release or cancellation is established here.
Cooler Master’s NC100 page describes a separate chassis for an Intel NUC 9 Extreme Compute Element; it does not show that the KFConsole itself was sold. A secondary report said the KFConsole page had been removed and KFC Gaming’s account had become inactive, but neither detail amounts to an official cancellation announcement.
What the two products actually are
| Comparison | KFConsole | PS5 |
|---|---|---|
| Product status | Gaming-PC concept announced in December 2020; retail release not established in the available coverage. | Sony console family with disc and digital options described on its current product page. |
| Hardware evidence | Announcement claims; no independently tested retail unit or final retail configuration established. | Sony published launch specifications in September 2020. Those figures describe launch-era models, not every later PS5 revision or the PS5 Pro. |
| Distinctive feature | Announced chamber designed to use system heat to keep food warm. | DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, 3D audio, and a PS5 game catalog described by Sony. |
| Buyer certainty | Price, release date, warranty, support, and final configuration not established. | Official product and model information is available; current local price and stock vary. |
What the KFConsole was claimed to do
Tom’s Hardware’s December 2020 report relayed promotional claims that the KFConsole could deliver 4K gaming at 240 frames per second. Treat that as announcement language, not a measured result: the available sources do not establish an independent test or a delivered retail device against which to verify it.
#1 Best Overall
- Model Number CFI-2000
- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)
- Vertical Stand sold seperately
The announcement’s other headline feature was a chamber intended to keep food warm using heat from the system. That novelty made the KFConsole unusually memorable, but it does not establish gaming performance, consumer availability, a price, or ongoing support.
What PS5 specifications can be compared fairly?
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s September 17, 2020 launch announcement listed these specifications for the original PS5 models:
Rank #2
- CPU: x86-64-AMD Ryzen Zen 8 Cores / 16 Threads at 3.5GHz.GPU: AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based graphics engine.

These are historical launch specifications, not a complete specification sheet for every current PS5 family model. Sony’s current PS5 product page covers standard disc and digital options and the PS5 Pro. It also identifies a separately sold disc drive for specified slim Digital Edition model groups and notes that design and specifications can change. Check the exact console model before choosing a drive or relying on launch-era figures.
Which should you choose?
Choose a PS5 for an actual purchase
The PS5 is the defensible choice if you want a documented console with stated model distinctions, official product information, and a game catalog. Compare the current local price and stock, the games and platform you want, whether you need physical discs, and the warranty and support available where you live. If you are considering a separately sold disc drive for a slim Digital Edition, confirm compatibility with your exact model group on Sony’s product page.

Choose the KFConsole only as a novelty story
The KFConsole wins on unusual concept design, not on demonstrated performance or buyer value. The evidence available does not confirm that consumers can buy one, nor does it supply a final retail configuration for a fair hardware comparison.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Verdict: who’s the winner?
For a real buying decision, PS5 wins because it is a documented product family with available official model information. KFConsole wins only the novelty contest: its chicken-warming chamber was an eye-catching announcement, while its 4K/240 fps claim remains promotional rather than independently verified. A strict 2020 specification shootout is not possible on the available evidence because no comparable final KFConsole retail specification or independent test is established.
