Spoilers for the Besieged main quest. To complete it, assign men to Dry Devil’s raid, question the prisoner about weaknesses in the enemy camp, join Hans on the south wall and support the attack with a bow if possible. After the pavisiers retreat, report to Dry Devil and Zizka, then sleep in Henry’s upstairs bed to advance the siege and begin Hunger and Despair.
1. Hear Zizka’s plan
At the start of Besieged, listen to the planning discussion and speak with Zizka. He gives Henry two preparation tasks: assign men to help Dry Devil’s raid and question the captured enemy prisoner for information about the camp.

2. Assign men and question the prisoner
Choose Dry Devil’s men
Find the squad members in the courtyard and select the men who will accompany Dry Devil. The guides do not describe this as a major branching choice. Gamer Guides reports that the men selected for the raid survive, but neither guide establishes a broader difference in quest outcome.
Get information from the prisoner
Go to Dry Devil in the cells beneath the courtyard to begin the interrogation. Ask about the enemy camp and its weaknesses; one camp-related answer is sufficient for the objective. Further dialogue can reveal the commander’s identity and information about Markvart. If you want to avoid torture, try the speech-related responses first, as Gamer Guides recommends.

3. Prepare, then meet Hans on the south wall
Before starting the fight, check Henry’s equipment and healing items and eat if needed. The alchemy bench is still available; Gamer Guides suggests Bowman’s brew if Henry’s Marksmanship is low. These are optional preparations, not quest requirements.
Reach Hans on the south wall by taking the stairs in the southwest corner of the inner courtyard. If Henry has no ranged weapon equipped, Hans offers a bow or crossbow. Choose the bow if you can: both walkthroughs recommend it for its faster rate of fire.

4. Support the raid from the walls
Clear the barricade, then target enemy shooters
The battle opens with soldiers at the barricade. Shoot at enemies below the south wall to support Dry Devil’s party. Enemy shooters appear on the right; deal with them, then wait for your allies to burn the enemy structures.
Watch for the pavisiers
The final group of attackers includes pavisiers approaching from the left. Their shields protect them, so aim when they move out from behind them.

Use cover if Henry is taking too much damage or ranged attacks are proving unreliable, and give your allies time to fight. Gamer Guides reports that the encounter can be won without Henry landing a hit, though it may take longer; that is guide-reported advice, not a tested guarantee across difficulty settings or game versions.

Once the pavisiers retreat, speak with Dry Devil and exhaust the available dialogue. Then find Zizka and report on the raid; PowerPyx places him in the castle dining hall. Finish the remaining conversation and sleep in Henry’s upstairs bed. The cutscene advances the siege to day 25 and starts Hunger and Despair.
