Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio are equipable combat classes with their own attacks and abilities. To unlock the full roster, raise Follower Bonds, meet the required ranks in earlier Archetypes, and spend MAG; some classes also require a story milestone or quest. This guide lists each named Archetype and its unlock conditions. Spoilers: the final section names late-game, character-exclusive Royal Archetypes.
How Archetype unlocks work
Archetypes are arranged in lineages. Origin forms start a lineage; Adept and Elite forms generally build on earlier Archetype ranks. Royal forms are late-game classes unique to specific party members. Some lineages skip an Adept form.
Read each requirement as a checklist: satisfy the named Bond, story, or quest condition; meet every listed prerequisite Archetype rank; and pay the MAG cost. The rank requirements apply to the character studying that Archetype. Bond progression is important, but it is not the only route: some classes have explicit story or quest triggers.
MAG costs are listed where the unlock guide supplies them. A requirement not listed for a class should not be inferred from another class in its lineage.

RPG Site’s Archetypes guide provides additional story and quest context, including Seeker’s story unlock, tasks for Magic Seeker and Soul Hacker, and the Summoner quest trigger. The guides use different headline roster counts; this list names the forms and requirements rather than asserting a total based on an unstated counting convention.
