How do you unlock Tyrant’s Star?
Complete the Skybound Avatar Conquest. Tyrant’s Star opens on October 26, which the Game8 walkthrough also lists as the deadline. If you are following a completion plan, make sure you have handled any other intended tasks before advancing to this final stretch.
How should you prepare for the dungeon?
Plan for enemies with different affinities rather than building around one damage type. Game8 recommends broad elemental coverage or Almighty skills so your party can respond when an enemy resists a favored element. Its suggested party is the protagonist, Junah, Hulkenberg, and Eupha; this is a guide recommendation, not a requirement.
- Bring access to several elemental attacks, or include Almighty damage.
- Keep support and recovery options available for a long final sequence.
- Decide before tackling optional encounters whether you want a more manageable final boss or a full-strength challenge.
Should you fight the optional bosses?
Optional rematches against previous bosses are not all mandatory. The Gamer Guides walkthrough says defeating these minibosses weakens the final encounter and can reward powerful Archetype weapons. Skipping them means facing a stronger version of the final boss.

Diabolus Butera
Gamer Guides identifies Ice as Diabolus Butera’s weakness. It also advises countering Sandstorm’s hit/evasion debuff with Dekunda or a Reset Talisman. Treat these as encounter-specific strategy suggestions, not universal requirements for the dungeon.
Should you destroy the Melancholia Crystals?
Destroying the crystals weakens the final boss, according to PowerPyx’s trophy guide. Leaving every crystal intact is part of the Star Shatterer achievement route, which requires defeating the boss at full strength. That choice preserves the challenge but gives up the weakening effect.

Achievement guides describe the full-strength route differently: PowerPyx explicitly says not to destroy any Melancholia Crystals, while Gamer Guides describes heading directly onward to fight the powered-up boss. If the achievement is your priority, check its in-game condition and current guide details before committing to a route.
