How do I unlock Bardon?
After completing the Martira story operation, find Bardon in Martira and speak with him during the daytime on a free day. This starts his Follower bond and unlocks the Commander Archetype. He is listed around Martira square or the castle gate; check the Follower icon and current availability because the exact opportunity depends on your in-game schedule.

What are Bardon’s bond rank rewards?
Rank-up events are optional. The usual rhythm is daytime conversations with at least one full free day between several events, but availability can vary. Use the in-game Follower icon rather than treating the cadence below as a guaranteed calendar.

Which Bardon rewards are worth prioritizing?
For party switching: Rapid Swapper
At Rank 6, Rapid Swapper halves the Turn Icon cost of swapping a reserve party member into Squad Battle. Prioritize it if you often bring in a reserve to respond to enemy matchups.

For supplies: Care Package
Rank 4’s Care Package can provide healing or restoration items at the start of a day. Packages may be useful later, but their frequency and value are not guaranteed.
For Archetype options and inheritance
Bardon’s bond advances the Commander lineage: Commander is available at Rank 1, General unlocks with the Rank 3 reward, and Warlord with the Rank 8 reward. These Archetypes are accessed through the game’s study system; the bond does not automatically assign Warlord to the party. The Scion rewards also expand the number of Commander skills that can be inherited.

For escape abilities
Escape Artist at Rank 5 improves escape chances. Escape Master at Rank 7 makes escape succeed with stated exceptions, after you complete the associated quest.
When can I rank up Bardon?
Ranks 2 and 8 have date gates: Rank 2 starts July 23, and Rank 8 starts September 26. Several middle ranks require a full free day between conversations, and Rank 5 also requires Eloquence Rank 3. If Bardon is unavailable, check the calendar and Follower icon, then pursue other activities until his next opportunity appears.

How do I complete The Right to Rule?
The Right to Rule is required for Bardon’s Rank 7. Its boss is a level 60 Human, and guides caution that the fight may be difficult if attempted too early. Judge readiness by your party’s strength and difficulty setting; a level recommendation from an individual walkthrough is not a universal threshold. Completing the quest grants access to the Rank 7 bond event and Escape Master.
Do Bardon’s dialogue answers affect bond progression?
Correct answers in Bardon’s conversations can grant additional MAG, but they are not required to advance his bond. Treat the answers as an optional reward optimization rather than a rank-up condition.
Is Bardon’s bond required to finish the game?
The rank events are optional. Spending free time with Bardon is most useful if you want Commander-lineage Archetypes, more inheritance slots, or specific support abilities; you do not need to max the bond simply to complete the game.
