Vernearth is a surrealist Minecraft multiplayer project created by M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, Slipknot’s founding member. Its October 2025 announcement described a world for building, combat, and exploration, but the reported late-October opening was a plan at the time—not confirmation of when it actually opened. A third-party directory listed a server address and reported it online in September 2026; that is a lead, not current official confirmation.
What is Vernearth?
Vernearth was presented as a surrealist Minecraft multiplayer experience created by Crahan as a creative project outside his role in Slipknot. The project description reproduced by Insider Gaming on October 10, 2025, claimed the world contained “Over 100 million blocks” and featured beings called Mind Stewards. It described building, combat, and exploration as activities. The block count is a project claim, not an independently verified measurement.
Crahan’s description, quoted by The Escapist on October 10, 2025, was: “Vernearth is a place that has been set up to explore your own existence.”
Who made Vernearth?
M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, a founding member of Slipknot, was identified as Vernearth’s creator in the October 2025 coverage. That reporting framed it as a creative work separate from his band role.

Did Vernearth open, and how can you try to join?
The announcement coverage reported a planned opening in late October 2025. That reported target does not establish the actual opening date or prove that the world is accessible now.
A third-party listing at MCStat.org gives the address play.vernearth.com and reported the server online in September 2026. Directory status can become stale; the listing does not provide current official confirmation of availability, rules, features, or version compatibility. Treat the address as a possible connection lead rather than a guarantee.

What Minecraft version and edition does Vernearth require?
The Escapist reported that Vernearth was built in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4. That is a historical detail from the October 2025 report, not a confirmed current requirement. Current server version and connection compatibility have not been established by the sources available here. The reporting does not establish Bedrock support.
If you try the listed address, use Minecraft Java Edition and check the server’s current instructions before connecting. Java and Bedrock are distinct editions; support for one should not be assumed from the other.

Is Vernearth an official Minecraft Realm?
“Realm” appears in the announcement coverage, but it is not enough to confirm that Vernearth is a Mojang-operated or subscription-based Minecraft Realms world. Minecraft describes Realms as private, cloud-hosted servers, with Java and Bedrock Realms specific to their respective editions. Its official server information separately describes community-created multiplayer servers. The third-party listing of a server address does not resolve Vernearth’s exact hosting arrangement.
Minecraft’s official Realms page lists Java Realms at $7.99 USD per month for up to 10 simultaneous players, and says Java cross-play is supported on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Those are service details for Realms, not Vernearth access terms. Likewise, the official Minecraft server information explains how players access community servers; it does not confirm Vernearth’s current status.
