Yes—Minecraft is moving into location-based entertainment. The named project is Minecraft World, a planned theme-park land at Chessington World of Adventures in the UK, with an opening planned for 2027. Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios are developing it together. No exact opening date, ticket price, bookable offer, or final ride list has been announced in the sources available.
Where is Minecraft World?
Minecraft World is planned for Chessington World of Adventures, a Merlin resort in the UK. Chessington combines theme-park attractions with animal encounters and themed accommodation, so Minecraft World will sit within a broader resort rather than operate as a standalone Minecraft park. Merlin’s chief growth officer described it in an August 2026 blooloop interview as a world-first live theme-park experience for the brand and the biggest investment in Chessington’s history; those are Merlin’s descriptions of the project.
When will it open, and can you buy tickets?
The August 2026 interview gives 2027 as the planned opening year, but does not name a day or month. It also does not establish when tickets will go on sale, what they will cost, or whether a Minecraft-specific hotel package will be offered. The project should not be treated as currently bookable based on these announcements.
What will the experience include?
Merlin says the teams are developing the guest journey and working across attraction development, world-building, food and drink, retail, and digital engagement. The planned land is expected to feature Minecraft biomes and mobs, interactive play, and some connections to the in-game world.
