Neon White is a single-player, card-driven speedrunning FPS built around short stages and replayable routes. Developed by Angel Matrix and published by Annapurna Interactive, Neon White was released on Steam on June 16, 2022. PlayStation’s official game page describes it as “a lightning fast first-person action game about exterminating demons in Heaven.”

Despite its cards, it is not presented as a conventional deck-building game. The cards are level-based combat and traversal tools: use one to attack, or sacrifice it for a movement ability. The central challenge is learning when to fight and when to trade a card for speed.

Why does the game appeal to speedrunners?
Each stage is a compact route to solve and then revisit. Fighting enemies earns progress through the level, while sacrificing Soul Cards for movement can open a faster line. That structure suits players who enjoy refining a run through repeated attempts. It may be a less natural fit for someone looking primarily for a long, conventional campaign or for a multiplayer shooter: the official listings frame it as single-player and speed-focused.
