Monster Hunter Wilds launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 28, 2025. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled for December 4, 2026. The official announcements reviewed give calendar dates, not a precise worldwide release hour or timezone.
Monster Hunter Wilds release date and release time
The original versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC launched simultaneously on February 28, 2025, according to Capcom’s release announcement. Capcom later confirmed that launch in its March 31, 2025 sales release.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled to launch on December 4, 2026. Capcom announced the date on September 10, 2026; as of October 8, 2026, the release is still upcoming. See Capcom’s Switch 2 announcement.
Those official announcements state the release dates but do not specify a universal unlock hour or timezone. A precise global release time cannot be confirmed from them.

- New Monsters and Wildlife – Monster Hunter Wilds features a variety of new creatures, ranging from herds of small species to large monsters – some of which roam the Forbidden Lands in packs. Every creature hunters encounter in the wild has carved out a special place in its habitat and possesses unique attacks and behaviors.
- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.

Capcom has also said the paid expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is planned for Switch 2 in 2027. That is a separate expansion release, not the Switch 2 game’s launch date; see Capcom’s Ascendance announcement.
Editions and bundles
At launch, PlayStation listed Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe editions. Those launch-era options should not be assumed to remain on sale: Capcom’s July 20, 2026 notice said sales of the Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition, and Cosmetic DLC Pass would end on August 4, 2026. It also described Gold Edition as the game bundled with the Cosmetic DLC Collection, with new bundles rolling out from August 4. Check your own platform’s regional store for current availability, contents, and price. The notice is available through the Capcom Town Store.

Monster Hunter Wilds price
At the time reviewed, the US PlayStation Store listed the Standard Edition for $39.99. This is a US digital storefront price, not a worldwide price or an Amazon listing; store prices and discounts can change. Capcom announced a permanent base-game price reduction effective August 4, 2026, but did not publish one universal worldwide price. Compare the same edition on the same platform and in the same region, and distinguish the base game from Gold Edition and cosmetic-content bundles. Capcom reported more than 10 million units sold worldwide by March 31, 2025, calling it a company first-month sales record. This is the figure reported at that time, not a current lifetime total. In the same release, Capcom said the game introduced crossplay for the first time in the series and launched simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC: Capcom’s March 31, 2025 release.
