Formula Legends is no longer a newly announced game: Italian developer 3DClouds revealed the arcade open-wheel racer in April 2025, and it launched in September 2025. Its latest reported major update, Patch 1.7, added online Race and Championship modes in September 2026; crossplay was announced as planned for a separate October update, but its delivery is not confirmed here.
What is Formula Legends?
Formula Legends is an arcade racing game by Italian studio 3DClouds. Its fictional cars, drivers, teams and circuits take inspiration from more than seven decades of open-wheel motorsport. When announcing the game, the developer described a mix of accessible arcade racing and strategic race management—not a simulation built around real-world teams and drivers.

3DClouds CEO Francesco Bruschi summed up the design goal in the 2025 announcement: “Race fast and have fun is a mantra that has driven this game’s development from day 1.”
When was Formula Legends announced and released?
3DClouds announced the game in April 2025 and named September 18, 2025 as its launch date in a later announcement. The Epic Games Store lists the Windows release date as September 17, 2025, one day earlier. These are the respective announcement and storefront dates, rather than a single date shared by every listing.

The developer said its public alpha in June 2025 attracted more than 50,000 players in one week. That is a developer-reported participation figure; it is not a sales total or independently audited audience count.
What platforms is Formula Legends on?
The 2025 announcement named PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation as platforms. The store evidence available here specifically establishes a Windows version on the Epic Games Store. Current availability on every named console storefront is not confirmed by these listings, so check the relevant store in your region before buying.

The Epic Games Store describes the Windows version as including 16 car models and 14 circuits, and lists controller support. A controller is optional according to that listing; it does not establish that one is required or identify a preferred model.
What race features did the developer announce?

These are features described by the developer in its launch announcement, not independent findings about how well they work in play.

According to Traxion’s report, Patch 1.7 was released on September 18, 2026 and added online Race and Championship modes. The report describes public and private lobbies for up to 10 players. It also notes two online-specific limitations: collisions between players and steering-wheel support were disabled in multiplayer. That report does not establish that steering wheels are unsupported in the rest of the game.

Is crossplay available?
Traxion reported that crossplay between Xbox, PlayStation and Steam was planned for a separate October 2026 update. The available reporting does not confirm whether that update has since gone live, so crossplay availability remains unverified here.
