Ten new Hi-Fi RUSH achievements appeared in a SteamDB update on June 2, 2023, prompting speculation that downloadable content was on the way. They were a clue, not confirmation: the listing showed no achievement names or descriptions, and no additional content had been formally announced at the time. The mystery was later resolved when the free Arcade Challenge! update arrived on July 5, 2023.
What the achievement listing showed—and what it didn’t
Insider Gaming reported on June 2, 2023, that a SteamDB update had added ten achievements for Hi-Fi RUSH. The report said their names and descriptions were hidden, so the listing did not reveal what players would need to do or what content they related to. Insider Gaming’s June 2 report
The timing led to a reasonable guess that more content might be coming, with the report pointing to the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase as a possible venue for news. That was the outlet’s prediction, not a confirmed showcase announcement. An achievement listing can signal that a game is being updated, but by itself it cannot establish whether the update is paid DLC, a free update, or something else.
What actually arrived: the free Arcade Challenge! update
On July 5, 2023, Update 5 made the Arcade Challenge! update available to all Hi-Fi RUSH players. The official game news feed says it added two modes: BPM RUSH! and Power Up! Tower Up! Official Update 5 announcement
#1 Best Overall
- Battle against over 50 players simultaneously in a massive multiplayer playground—over 20 players on Xbox One.
- Compete in an all-out mass start race—collide, grind, and fight your way to the finish
- Customize your character to show off your style to your friends or show up the competition.
- Bike, ski, snowboard, or wingsuit through a seamless open world in Career mode or multiplayer events.
- Go wild on the heights of iconic US national parks like Yosemite, Zion, and Bryce Canyon.
The current Steam store page describes Arcade Challenge! as a free update and lists additional unlockable rewards. That makes the eventual answer more specific than the original DLC speculation: the new content arrived as a free update, rather than an announced paid DLC release. Hi-Fi RUSH on Steam
What the two modes add
- BPM RUSH! is one of the two modes named in the Update 5 announcement.
- Power Up! Tower Up! is the other mode added by the update.
The official announcement identifies the modes and additional unlockable content; the achievement listing itself did not disclose how its ten entries connected to those additions.

No. The achievement story is from June 2023, and the related Arcade Challenge! update followed the next month. It should be read as a piece of Hi-Fi RUSH history, not as evidence that new DLC is currently on the way.
