A Helldivers 2 trailer appeared to vanish from a PlayStation channel in May 2025, prompting fans to wonder whether it hinted at an Xbox version. The Xbox release did arrive—but months later, and there is no confirmed link between it and the trailer’s disappearance.
What happened to the Helldivers 2 trailer?
On May 6, 2025, people in a Helldivers Reddit discussion said a PlayStation trailer had appeared and then been removed shortly after posting. The discussion records what users saw and how they interpreted it; it does not establish the precise removal mechanism or why the trailer disappeared.
Some commenters treated the disappearance as a possible clue to an Xbox announcement. One wrote, “Im putting on the biggest tinfoil hat in history and hope this is for an Xbox release”. That was fan speculation, not a statement from PlayStation or Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead.
Did the trailer mean Helldivers 2 was coming to Xbox?
Helldivers 2 did later come to Xbox, but the available official announcements do not connect the port to the May trailer. Xbox Wire announced the Xbox Series X|S version on July 3, 2025, and set its release for August 26, 2025. Xbox Wire described the game as available on Xbox in coverage published September 2, 2025.

Where Helldivers 2 stands now

No official explanation in the cited announcements or community discussion establishes why the May 2025 trailer disappeared. The Xbox announcement confirms the port and its launch date, not the cause of the earlier disappearance. The original rumor is best understood as a fan theory that later overlapped with a real release—not as evidence that fans had uncovered the plan.
