Mythical Island’s Pokémon TCG Pocket booster pack was scheduled to launch on December 17, 2024; it is not an upcoming release. The announced ways to collect its cards were opening its booster pack and using Wonder Pick. To open more packs, use the game’s pack-stamina system, Pack Hourglasses, or—optionally—Poké Gold to reduce the wait. Whether Mythical Island is still available in the app on October 8, 2026, is not established by the official sources cited here, so check the in-game pack screen.
When did Mythical Island release?
DeNA and The Pokémon Company announced the Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion on December 12, 2024. Its themed booster pack was scheduled to become available on December 17, 2024. The announcement described new card illustrations, including the Mythical Pokémon Mew, as well as new binder and display board covers. DeNA’s announcement said players could collect the expansion’s cards by opening booster packs and through Wonder Pick.
The official trailer described more than 80 cards, including five new Pokémon ex cards and five new Trainer cards. These are launch-era details, not confirmation of what is currently available in the app.
How to open more Mythical Island packs
Pokémon Support’s gameplay FAQ, updated July 30, 2026, describes the general pack-opening system. It does not confirm that Mythical Island packs are currently offered.

Wait for pack stamina or reduce the wait
- Pack stamina: This governs the wait before opening packs. The FAQ says the “Open 10 packs” button appears when pack stamina reaches zero.
- Pack Hourglasses: Use these to reduce pack-opening wait time.
- Poké Gold: This optional paid currency can also reduce the wait if you do not have enough Pack Hourglasses. The FAQ says up to 720 Poké Gold can be used per day for this purpose; the limit resets at 6:00 a.m. UTC. The game is free to start and offers optional in-app purchases. Spending does not guarantee a particular card.
These mechanics can shorten the wait or let you open multiple packs when the button becomes available; they do not establish a guaranteed number of Mythical Island packs or a particular card outcome. For the current instructions, see Pokémon Support’s gameplay FAQ.
Use expansion Pack Points
Opening packs from an expansion earns Pack Points for that expansion. Pack Points can be exchanged only for cards from the same expansion and do not expire, according to the support FAQ. This is a way to work toward eligible cards rather than a way to open additional packs.

Try Wonder Pick
Wonder Pick was named as another route for collecting Mythical Island cards in the 2024 announcement. It is not a promise that a particular card will appear or that every card in the expansion can be obtained this way.
