FIFA Rivals is an officially licensed, free-to-play arcade football game for mobile, developed by Mythical Games with FIFA. Announced in November 2024 with Web3 and Mythos blockchain features, it launched worldwide on June 13, 2025. Current listings describe squad building, scenarios, real-time PvP and digital-item trading; they do not establish that items have guaranteed resale value or unrestricted transferability.
From announcement to worldwide launch
- November 22, 2024: FIFA announced its collaboration with Mythical Games. The planned iOS and Android title was described as free-to-play arcade football and part of FIFA’s non-simulation gaming portfolio. FIFA’s announcement outlined club creation and management, lineup upgrades, real-time PvP, and in-game and web marketplaces using Mythos blockchain technology. FIFA’s announcement reflects the plans and framing at that time.
- June 13, 2025: FIFA announced FIFA Rivals’ worldwide availability through the App Store and Google Play. The launch release highlighted PvP, live events, PVE Scenarios and tradeable digital collectibles. FIFA’s launch announcement also called the soft launch successful.
- October 8, 2026: The official game site described the FIFA World Cup 2026 season as live. Google Play showed 1M+ downloads and 26.1K reviews when checked that day; the listing said it was updated September 30, 2026. These are storefront indicators, not independently audited sales or audience figures. Google Play listing and the official FIFA Rivals site can change over time.
What the current game descriptions say
FIFA Rivals combines arcade-style football with team and roster management. The current Google Play description says players build a team, adjust formations and tactics, play turn-based scenarios, and enter real-time matches and tournaments. It also describes a FIFA World Cup Legacy Mode featuring teams from the 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 tournaments. The official website summarizes the loop as building a squad, playing fast matches and competing in challenges. These are publisher descriptions, not an independent assessment of how the game plays.

Store availability varies by platform. Google Play lists Android and Windows availability, with Windows powered by Intel technology. Apple lists iPhone and iPad compatibility and requires iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later. Check each store listing for current device and regional availability: Google Play and App Store.
Web3 framing, digital items and marketplace names
The original announcement explicitly framed FIFA Rivals around Web3: it described Mythos blockchain technology and in-game and web marketplaces. At launch, FIFA described the digital collectibles as tradable items on the Mythical Marketplace. The current Google Play description instead calls the venue the Pulse Market. Those are the terms used by the respective sources at different points; the current listing’s name is Pulse Market.

Mythical Games CEO John Linden described the launch-era feature as “actual ownership in gaming.” That is the company’s characterization, not independent verification of the legal rights attached to a particular item. The cited materials do not establish guaranteed resale value, financial return or unrestricted transferability for digital items.
Price and in-app purchase disclosures
The game is free to download, but the official store listings disclose in-app purchases. Google Play also indicates that in-game purchases can include random items. That disclosure does not, by itself, establish the odds, likely spending or value of any item. Check the listing and in-game purchase details before spending: Google Play and App Store.

What the FIFA partnership does—and does not—mean
FIFA presented FIFA Rivals as an addition to its non-simulation gaming portfolio. FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said when the game was announced: “We’re thrilled to partner with Mythical Games to launch FIFA Rivals, bringing football fans a mobile-first gaming experience that deepens their connection to the sport. The game is an innovative and accessible addition to our expanding gaming and esports portfolio.”
The shared FIFA name should not be taken to mean FIFA Rivals is the same product as EA’s former FIFA Mobile game. The available materials identify this title as a Mythical Games collaboration and describe it as arcade-focused; they do not establish equivalence between the games.

At launch, Mythical Games and OneFootball also announced a multi-year collaboration involving football content and promotions. OneFootball’s announcement described plans for live stats, news, player stories, limited-edition kits and collectible boots in-game, plus event-linked promotions and tournaments. OneFootball’s partner-marketing page describes an opt-in for communications, including promotions and offers, but neither that page nor the collaboration announcement establishes a publisher affiliate program, tracked download link, commission or share of in-game purchases.
