How Connections works

Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four that share a theme. The groups are color-coded yellow, green, blue, and purple, from easiest to trickiest. Words can appear to fit more than one category, which is part of the challenge. The NYT describes the rules in its Help Center.
