The July 18, 2024 Once Human update added Highway Pursuit, a nightly event in which players could chase a Sproutlet-carrying Rosetta truck across Red Sands. The notes also list fixes and adjustments to combat, progression, crafting, storage, quests, trading, and the interface. This is a historical summary of the announcement, not confirmation that these features work the same way today.

Highway Pursuit: the Sproutlet truck event

The main gameplay addition was a Rosetta transport truck filled with Sproutlets, appearing on the highways of Red Sands. The announcement called the activity “Highway Pursuit.” It specified a nightly window of 9 PM to 10 PM, but did not say which server clock determines that time.

  • How to collect Sproutlets: Activate PvP nearby, then ram the truck with a vehicle or pick up the Sproutlets.
  • Where it was available: Both PvP and PvE scenarios.
  • Stated consequences: The mode would not cause durability loss or gear drops.

These details describe the event as announced in July 2024; the notes do not establish its current availability or rules.

Other gameplay, balance, and progression changes

  • World merging was disabled; the notes said servers would no longer merge in later stages.
  • The weekly Warband donation limit was increased, and a weekly donation limit was introduced in the Evolution’s Call scenario.
  • The Spacetime detection radius was expanded to support exploration.
  • Fortress Warfare fixes addressed inactive Super Armor and Raining Cash failing to provide a damage bonus.
  • A stacking issue with the Precise Shot Mask was fixed, along with related text descriptions.
  • Camera sensitivity gained a wider adjustment range for different perspectives.
  • Orange Pie was fixed to provide EXP properly. Recipe rarity was adjusted for Shattered Bread, Safety Sandwich, Ghost Cookie, Fat-Burning Juice, Stargazy Pie, and Bacon Burger to match the stated quality.
  • Season Goal unlock times were corrected. Handling of damaged Storage Crates was optimized to prevent supply loss in certain circumstances.
  • Navigation responsiveness was improved, attribute errors for season-exclusive Deviations were fixed, and Territory Deviation working range was optimized.
  • Paper Doll productivity was improved, and the wilderness probability of acquiring Growshroom was increased.
  • Cargo Scramble random spawn rules were adjusted. A Staroid Restrainer issue that prevented changing the core area location was fixed.

Quest, interface, inventory, and crafting fixes

The patch covered a broad range of issues across tasks and menus:

  • Trading and inventory: Players could set Energy Links to zero; durable items could be split; and backpack discard errors were fixed.
  • Building, storage, and crafting: The notes addressed water-return messaging, a repeatable issue acquiring a neutral cooking station, portable fridge behavior while offline, and damaged Storage Crates. The ice-making Memetic formula changed from Boiled Water to Pure Water.
  • Repair targeting: All-Purpose Hand would no longer target lost gear or other players’ dropped gear for repair. The announcement ties this change to a preceding fix that had made gear repairable in certain circumstances; it does not describe all repair behavior.

  • Excessive camera zoom when grabbed by a Gnawer and a Recurve Bow display issue.

  • Purification interface behavior for Hive members.

New Shop arrivals

The announcement listed the “Y2K” and “Brave Gladiator” outfits, the “Kitty’s Whisper” furniture set, and the “Glitter Hooves” and “Ultimatum” weapon skins as new Shop arrivals. These were in-game cosmetics; the notes do not establish whether they remain available.
