Start by identifying whether “lag” means low frame rate and visual stutter, or delayed actions and connection problems: each points to a different fix. For low FPS, lower the game’s graphics settings. For multiplayer delay, check your connection and selected region, then look for an official server notice before assuming your PC needs an upgrade.
First, identify what kind of lag you have
Watch what happens when the problem starts. Low frame rate, choppy visuals, or slow asset loading point toward local performance. Delayed actions, high latency, or intermittent freezes may involve your connection, region, or the game servers. These are useful diagnostic categories, not a guaranteed diagnosis; the game’s official guidance lists different remedies for performance and connectivity issues.
- Low FPS or visual stutter: Begin with the in-game graphics settings.
- Delayed actions or connection interruptions: Check network stability, VPN use, and region.
- A sudden problem affecting multiplayer after an update: Check official notices and report persistent symptoms rather than assuming a local hardware fault.
Fix low FPS and visual stutter
Once Human’s official FAQ recommends reducing graphics settings to improve frame rate. Open ESC → Settings → Graphics → Performance and try lowering resolution, special effects, texture quality, or rendering quality. Change one or two settings at a time so you can see whether performance improves.
The FAQ notes that slow performance can occur even when a device exceeds the game’s minimum system requirements. Meeting the listed requirements therefore does not rule out a local performance issue, and the FAQ’s settings changes are a more direct first test than buying new hardware.

- 40 Gbps 2000 Mhz High Speed: The Cat 8 ethernet cable support max. 40 Gbps data transfer and 2000 MHz Brandwith, ideal for gaming and streaming, greatly improving upload and download speed, sound, image and resolution quality
- Excellent Anti-interference: The ethernet cable comes with 4 shielded foiled twisted pairs (F/FTP), pure copper core and gold-plated RJ45 connector, reducing interference, noise and crosstalk, making network speed faster and more stable
- Marvelous Durability: Internet cable wrapped with quality cotton braided cord, which makes the LAN cable stronger and more durable. The test proves that this internet cable can be bent at least 10000 times without broken, very suitable for long-term use
- PoE Supported: All lengths of ethernet cord can support the PoE power supply function except 65ft. You don't need additional power supply when installing a PoE camera, which is very convenient and safe
- Wide Compatibility: With the RJ45 Connector, network cable can be perfectly compatible with computers, laptops, modems, routers, PS5, X-Box and other networking devices. It can also be fully backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6e, Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5
Check multiplayer connection and region
If the visuals remain smooth but actions arrive late or the connection freezes, start with the network checks in the official FAQ:
- Check whether your internet connection is stable while playing.
- If you are using a VPN, disable it and restart the game client.
- Confirm that you selected the intended game region. The FAQ says players in different regions cannot play together because the regional servers are in different physical data centers.
As a diagnostic—not an official Once Human fix—you can compare the connection with another online game. If several games have trouble at the same time, that is a reason to investigate your connection; if only Once Human is affected, continue checking the selected region and official notices.

- Cat 8 Speed, Cat 5/5e Value Enjoy Cat 8 Ethernet cable performance at a Cat 5/5e-level value. With up to 40Gbps speed and 2000MHz bandwidth, this high speed internet cable delivers more bandwidth than standard Cat 5 and Cat 5e cables, helping support smooth gaming, streaming, video calls, large file transfers and everyday wired network use.
- 40Gbps Speed, Wide Compatibility This Cat 8 Ethernet cable supports up to 40Gbps data transfer and 2000MHz bandwidth for fast, reliable internet performance. Standard RJ45 connectors are backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6, Cat6a and Cat5e devices, including routers, modems, switches, gaming PCs, PS5, PS4, Xbox, smart TVs, laptops and printers.
- Stable U/FTP Shielding Each of the 4 twisted pairs is individually wrapped with aluminum foil to help reduce crosstalk, noise, and signal interference. Combined with RJ45 connectors on both ends, the U/FTP design helps maintain cleaner signal transmission for a stable and reliable wired network connection.
- Nylon Braided Durability The nylon braided jacket adds everyday durability while keeping the cable flexible and easy to route. Reinforced construction helps the cord handle bending, pulling and frequent plugging, making it a reliable choice for desks, gaming rooms, home offices and long-term network setups.
- 50ft Reach for More Setups The 50 ft length makes it easier to connect devices across rooms, along walls, under desks or around corners. Great for router-to-PC connections, modem-to-TV setups, gaming consoles, workstations, printers and other home network equipment that needs a longer Ethernet cable.
Check whether the issue may be server-side
Once Human has had documented server-side lag and latency incidents, but those dated reports do not establish the cause of a current player’s symptoms. For example, a June 6, 2025 update notice attributed an incident involving high latency and unregistered damage to server overload amid many players and concentrated weapon effects. A separate August 28, 2025 notice said server lag issues following version 2.1.2 had been fixed as of August 27 at 8:00 PM PT. These are records of specific incidents, not a statement about live server health.
If your problem began suddenly or seems to affect multiplayer broadly, check the official Once Human update notices for a relevant current announcement. If no notice explains it, report your symptoms rather than treating an old incident as proof that the servers are responsible.

Report a persistent problem
Use ESC → Feedback & Customer Support → Bug Report to send an in-game report. The official FAQ also lists [email protected] for offline reports. Include useful diagnostic details—your platform, server, when the issue occurred, and screenshots or video if available—so support can understand what happened.
Keep crash and graphics-error fixes separate
If the issue is a crash or a graphics error rather than multiplayer delay, the official FAQ separately suggests updating drivers or repairing the game client. It also says certain controllers can cause compatibility errors. Those steps address the problems described there; they are not established general fixes for network latency.

Do not treat system requirements as a lag diagnosis
Steam lists 8 GB RAM and a GTX 750 Ti 4 GB or Radeon RX 550 as minimum PC examples; its recommended examples include 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1060 6 GB, Radeon RX 580 2304SP, or Intel Arc A380. Steam also lists 100 GB of available storage and says an SSD is highly recommended. These are listed requirements, not evidence that upgrading to any of those components will fix multiplayer lag. Choose any hardware troubleshooting based on a specific, observed local bottleneck—not the word “lag” alone.
