For a parry-focused build, Hedgehog is the strongest pick in Enlege’s ranking: precise parries inflict Internal Damage on enemies. But no Jade is best for every player or fight. Computing Power is limited, and timing skill, enemy type, and whether you need damage, healing, or control all affect a useful loadout.
How this ranking works
The order below follows Enlege’s February 25, 2025 article, “Nine Sols: 10 Best Jades, Ranked.” It is that publication’s judgment, not an official game tier list. Jades are equippable bonuses, and each one uses Computing Power, so a Jade’s cost matters alongside its effect. The costs and descriptions below are those reported by Enlege; check the in-game version you are playing if exact values are important. Read Enlege’s ranking.

What the top picks are best at
For parry damage: Hedgehog
Hedgehog is the ranking’s clear offensive choice if you can land precise parries consistently. Its reported effect turns successful timing into Internal Damage against the enemy. Its 3-Computing-Power cost is a substantial part of the decision: it may be less attractive if you want to equip several other bonuses or if a fight makes precise parries difficult.
For turning defense into offense: Iron Skin
Iron Skin also costs 3 Computing Power in Enlege’s list. Its appeal is different from Hedgehog’s: rather than requiring precise parries to produce the listed effect, it converts some incoming damage into Internal Damage. That can suit a player willing to manage health and damage as part of the same exchange, but it is not a substitute for avoiding damage.

For a safety net or recovery: Revival, Quick Dose, and Breather
These three choices support survivability in different ways. Revival is the one-time second chance described by the ranking, while Quick Dose makes pipe use faster and Breather converts some Internal Damage back into health through slash attacks. They do not do the same job: choose the one that addresses your most common failure point rather than treating them as interchangeable defensive upgrades.
For control and less demanding encounters: Stasis
Stasis can briefly immobilize an enemy when you attach a talisman. That control is especially useful against regular enemies, but a Steam Community tier list describes it as less useful against bosses and identifies Steely as a boss-oriented alternative for uninterrupted talisman detonation. Choose a Jade loadout for the fight and your play style
There is no single best setup: compare the Computing Power cost with the kind of encounter and the way you prefer to handle mistakes.
- If precise parries are a strength: Consider Hedgehog for its reported Internal Damage effect. A Switchblade Gaming guide recommends pairing Hedgehog with Reciprocation as a high-skill parry route; treat that as the guide’s build suggestion, not independently verified performance data. - If you want more tolerance while learning: Revival offers the ranking’s described second chance, while Quick Dose reduces the time spent using the pipe. Stasis can add control against ordinary enemies. Each uses Computing Power that could otherwise go toward damage.
- If you want ranged flexibility: Switchblade Gaming recommends Stasis with Mob Quell and Ricochet as a more forgiving ranged setup. This is a guide recommendation, not a measured or independently tested comparison.
- If a boss is the problem: Do not assume a Jade that excels against regular enemies will carry over. The Steam tier list’s author favors Steely for uninterrupted talisman detonation in boss encounters, while treating Stasis as more useful against regular foes.
- If you are exploring or farming: Avarice is the ranking’s situational choice because it increases Jin gained from enemy kills; its value depends on whether that resource gain matters to your current goal.
The Steam list explicitly frames its tiers as personal assessments and says some damage figures are estimates because the game lacks damage numbers. Use it as a perspective on trade-offs, not as a precise benchmark or official ranking. Its author also rates Breather, Iron Skin, Stasis, Swift Blade, and Revival as generally good within that personal framework, which shows how much rankings can differ by criteria.

A practical way to decide
- Start with the encounter. Separate regular enemies, where control such as Stasis may help, from bosses that may reward a different approach.
- Name the problem you want to solve. Pick whether you need more damage, easier healing, recovery, crowd control, or resource gain.
- Check the Computing Power cost. Compare the effect against the other bonuses you would have to give up to equip it.
- Match the Jade to your execution. Hedgehog’s listed benefit depends on precise parries; a less timing-dependent defensive or recovery choice may be more useful if those parries are inconsistent.
- Reassess when the situation changes. A farming or exploration bonus need not be your boss setup, and a regular-enemy control choice need not be your answer to every encounter.
