Is Nightmare Focus Staff good for Warlocks?
Warlock DPS
Wowhead’s Phase 3 Season of Discovery Warlock DPS guide includes Nightmare Focus Staff among its top staff options. The guide also notes that main-hand and off-hand combinations often outperform staves, so the staff is not automatically the best weapon setup for every DPS Warlock. Compare the available combination and its stats with the staff before choosing. Wowhead’s Phase 3 Warlock DPS gear guide.
Warlock tank
Wowhead’s Phase 3 Warlock tank guide identifies Nightmare Focus Staff as its best threat staff. That is a threat-focused recommendation, not evidence that it is the best mitigation option. Wowhead’s Phase 3 Warlock tank gear guide.

Other classes and phases
The cited guides support a role-specific assessment for Phase 3 Warlocks, not a universal ranking for every class, specialization, or later phase. Use the staff’s spell bonus and Intellect when weighing caster damage, and its Stamina and threat value when considering a tank setup; compare those benefits against the alternatives available to your character.
