Selected Nintendo Switch games, including Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, were reported at up to 50% off during Black Friday 2025. Those prices are historical, not confirmed current offers. The promotion covered specific games at particular retailers—not every Mario or Zelda title.
Which Mario and Zelda games were included?
HotHardware’s November 23, 2025 report covered Amazon offers for selected first-party Switch games. It named Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD among the discounted titles, with some offers reaching up to 50% off. The report said The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom were not on the Amazon sale list it reviewed. Read HotHardware’s Black Friday 2025 coverage.

That distinction matters: “Mario and Zelda” described selected games, not franchise-wide discounts. A title’s price depended on the retailer and the specific offer.
What prices did Nintendo and retailers report?
Nintendo’s November 11, 2025 U.S. holiday announcement listed suggested prices for nine physical games at select retailers. These were suggested prices for that promotion, not guaranteed retailer prices or current listings.

Nintendo’s holiday-offers announcement described physical-game deals at select retailers, including Nintendo’s official U.S. stores. A separate GameSpot report on November 24 documented Walmart offers of $30 for several games that were often priced at $60, while Nintendo Switch Sports was $30 against a $50 price. That means Switch Sports was discounted, but not 50% off. GameSpot also reported that retailers could have different prices or stock for the same title. See GameSpot’s November 2025 retailer report.
When did the 2025 offers run?
Nintendo gave its digital eShop Cyber Deals sale a separate window: November 20 through December 3, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PT. Physical-game offers at select retailers were announced to begin November 23. These were distinct promotions and dates; neither establishes that a deal remains available today.

How to check a Switch game deal now
Because the cited offers were from November 2025, verify a live retailer listing before relying on any sale price. Compare the details that can change from one offer to another:
- Exact game and edition: Confirm the listing is for the title you want, not another game in the same franchise or a different edition.
- Retailer and date: A historical price at one seller does not establish today’s price elsewhere.
- Format: Check whether the listing is physical or digital; Nintendo’s cited retailer offers concerned physical games, while the eShop sale was a separate digital promotion.
- Price basis: Distinguish a retailer’s current price from Nintendo’s 2025 suggested price or a past sale price.
- Stock and console compatibility: Confirm availability and, if you play on Switch 2, check support for that exact game.
Will these Switch games work on Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo says Switch 2 supports compatible physical and digital Nintendo Switch games, but cautions that some titles may not be supported or fully compatible. Check Nintendo’s compatibility information for the particular game rather than assuming every Switch title works identically on Switch 2. Nintendo included this qualification with its 2025 holiday offers announcement.
