No Twilight Princess remake for Switch has been confirmed in the Nintendo announcements reviewed. Nintendo’s September 8, 2026 Zelda anniversary announcement named a remake of Ocarina of Time for Switch 2, but did not include Twilight Princess. That does not rule out a future release; it means the specific Switch remake claim remains unverified.
What Nintendo has announced—and what it has not
Nintendo’s September 8, 2026 40th-anniversary announcement identified an Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled to launch November 5. Nintendo described remade visuals, voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, orchestral music and control changes for that game. The announcement did not name a Twilight Princess remake.
This is a statement about that announcement, not a promise that Nintendo will never make or announce another version. The specific claim that Twilight Princess is being remade for Switch is not substantiated by the official material cited here, and no trustworthy original report or named source for that claim was established in the sources reviewed. Treat it as unverified rather than as a confirmed game or release plan.
Keep the Ocarina of Time details separate
The confirmed remake, November 5 launch date and feature details belong to Ocarina of Time on Switch 2. They are not evidence of a Twilight Princess version, and Nintendo has not announced a release date, price, features or Switch compatibility for a new Twilight Princess edition.
#1 Best Overall
- Disc only. Original case and manual not included. Will come packaged in a generic case.
- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
The anniversary announcement also listed Switch 2 accessories, including a Pro Controller and carrying case, alongside other Zelda activities and products. Those are general platform or anniversary items, not announced Twilight Princess accessories or requirements. Nintendo separately announced a LEGO Ocarina of Time Link & Epona display model for spring 2027; it is unrelated to a confirmed Twilight Princess release.
What versions of Twilight Princess are established?
Twilight Princess received an HD version on Wii U, according to GameSpot’s June 12, 2026 retrospective. That history does not establish that the Wii U edition is available on Switch or that a Switch edition is in development. There are no confirmed Switch editions to compare with the original or HD release.
