Overwatch: Classic was a limited-time event inside Overwatch 2, not a standalone game. Its first run revisited launch-era heroes, abilities, maps, and 6v6 team play. Blizzard scheduled it for November 12 through December 2, 2024; those dates describe the original event, not confirmed current availability.
What was Overwatch: Classic?
Blizzard presented Overwatch: Classic as a series of temporary Overwatch 2 events revisiting different points in the franchise’s history. The first edition returned to the original release-era experience, using launch-era heroes, abilities, maps, and rules. It also restored balance characteristics such as health pools, damage outputs, and projectile sizes to values from before Overwatch 2 Season 9.

That description applies to the first edition. It does not establish that any later Classic event would use the same roster, balance, maps, or rules. Blizzard’s announcement describes the event series and its launch-version focus.
When was Overwatch Classic available?
Blizzard scheduled the first event for November 12 through December 2, 2024. The company described it as a three-week event; those calendar dates span 21 days inclusive. The announcement said, “For a special three-week event starting today (November 12), Overwatch 2 takes you back to where it all began.” The quote appears in Blizzard Entertainment’s Season 13 midseason update; Blizzard did not attribute it to a named speaker.
