Spoiler warning: The answers for NYT Connections game #905, from Tuesday, December 2, 2025, are below.

What are the answers for Connections #905?

The 16 words divide into four groups: APPROXIMATE, MILD OATHS, MLB PLAYER, and FAMILY MEMBER NICKNAME PLUS A LETTER.

Category Words
APPROXIMATE BALLPARK, BROAD, GENERAL, ROUGH
MILD OATHS FRICK, FUDGE, SHOOT, SUGAR
MLB PLAYER ANGEL, MET, RAY, ROYAL
FAMILY MEMBER NICKNAME PLUS A LETTER BROW, DADA, MOMA, SISI

How each group fits

Yellow: APPROXIMATE

BALLPARK, BROAD, GENERAL, and ROUGH can each describe an estimate or something that is not exact. “Ballpark” is also commonly used to mean an approximate figure.

Green: MILD OATHS

FRICK, FUDGE, SHOOT, and SUGAR are softened exclamations or substitutes for stronger oaths.

Blue: MLB PLAYER

The category label is MLB PLAYER, but the words are best understood as team-name words: ANGEL points to the Los Angeles Angels, MET to the New York Mets, RAY to the Tampa Bay Rays, and ROYAL to the Kansas City Royals.

Purple: FAMILY MEMBER NICKNAME PLUS A LETTER

Each word adds one letter to a familiar family nickname: BRO + W makes BROW, DAD + A makes DADA, MOM + A makes MOMA, and SIS + I makes SISI. These are wordplay constructions, not a list of literal family members.
