The other research rewards were reported to be the same, so the sensible choice was the colorway you preferred—not a gameplay advantage. That timed choice has expired.
Which Morpeko Onesie path should you choose?
Choose Full Belly for the yellow-and-brown look or Hangry for the black-and-purple look. Those color descriptions and the report that the two paths shared their other rewards come from Dot Esports. The official Pokémon GO announcement confirms that the selected branch awarded its corresponding onesie: “Morpeko Onesie (Full Belly Mode)” or “Morpeko Onesie (Hangry Mode).”

Is this path choice still available?
No. Pokémon GO’s Halloween 2024 Part I event ran from October 22 at 10 a.m. through October 28, 2024, at 10 a.m. local time. The separate paid branching-research ticket was listed at US$5.00 or equivalent local pricing and was available only until November 2, 2024, at 8 p.m. local time. Players had to complete tasks and claim rewards by November 3, 2024, at 8 p.m. local time. These were historical deadlines, not a current offer. Pokémon GO said the two onesies would be available in the in-game shop during the event and would remain available afterward. That announcement does not establish whether either item is listed in the shop today.

No. The outfit branch is a cosmetic decision; Morpeko’s battle forms and moves are separate game mechanics. In Pokémon GO’s Halloween 2024 announcement, Morpeko changes form after using a Charged Attack. Full Belly Mode uses Electric-type Aura Wheel, while Hangry Mode uses Dark-type Aura Wheel. The announcement listed each move at 100 power in Trainer Battles and said each raises Morpeko’s Attack by one stage. Those mechanics do not make either onesie path stronger.

Keep the games’ rules distinct: Pokémon GO’s announcement describes a Charged Attack-triggered form change in GO, while the official Pokédex entry describes Morpeko’s Hunger Switch ability alternating its forms after each turn in the main-series games.
