Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are officially announced for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, but the detailed story and mechanics described in leak reports are not confirmed features. The 2025 report attributed its claims to documents from 2021; a separate 2026 report described alleged beta text reportedly from a 2023–2024 build. Treat both as unverified and potentially outdated.
What the Pokémon Gen 10 leak claims
In an October 13, 2025 report, Sam Sepiol of Insider Gaming relayed details attributed to material shared by CentroLeaks. The report cautioned that the documents dated to 2021 and that their contents could have changed or been discarded. Its claims are therefore a record of alleged development concepts, not a reliable description of the final games.

Alleged setting, story, and characters
The report described an alleged “Infinity” theme and a region inspired by Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It said two legendary figures would be associated with wind and waves. Its purported story elements included a young protagonist from Kuala Lumpur, a family on vacation, a local rival, a resort-company chairman, a land-development team, and a young professor researching weather and Pokémon. Those roles and plot details remain unconfirmed.
Alleged mechanics and features
The 2025 article also attributed several concepts to the purported documents: a “Seed Pokémon” system with variable evolutions, weather-related battle moves, underwater exploration, diving, procedurally generated islands, raids, and a resort hotel that could function as an online lobby. It further claimed the games would use a new graphics engine. None of these details is established by the official game description.

What a later report says about Majinization
A separate VICE report by Brent Koepp, published October 3, 2026, describes alleged beta dialogue reportedly from a 2023–2024 build. It says the text refers to a region with around 100 islands, including 18 larger islands, and three adventure tours named League, Legend, and Majinize.
In that report, the purported new mechanic is called Majinization and is associated with a Majinize Band and a research lab. The excerpts do not explain what the mechanic does. VICE also mentions a possible companion named Konetsu, but the material does not establish the character’s appearance, typing, or whether Konetsu is a box legendary. These are still alleged details from an older build, not an official feature list.

What Pokémon has officially confirmed
The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves on February 27, 2026, calling them “all-new entries in the Pokémon video game series.” The games are planned for simultaneous worldwide release in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2.
The official description confirms an open world of windswept islands and a vast ocean. It says local environments shape distinct ecosystems and that natural forces can block the player’s path. The company has also named the first partner Pokémon: Browt (Grass), Pombon (Fire), and Gecqua (Water). These broad setting details overlap with the wind-and-water framing in the earlier leak, but that overlap does not verify the leak’s other claims.

Official announcements versus leak reports
| Evidence | What it says | Material date or age | Officially confirmed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Company announcement and game page | Winds and Waves, Nintendo Switch 2, a 2027 worldwide release window, an open-world island-and-ocean setting, and the three first partner Pokémon | Announcement dated February 27, 2026; official game page accessed October 8, 2026 | Yes, for the stated details |
| Insider Gaming report | Alleged story, characters, setting inspiration, Seed Pokémon, weather moves, exploration systems, raids, online lobby, and graphics engine | Published October 13, 2025; underlying documents reportedly dated to 2021 | No; the report itself warns the material could be outdated |
| VICE report | Alleged island counts, three tours, Majinization, Majinize Band, research lab, and possible companion Konetsu | Published October 3, 2026; material reportedly from a 2023–2024 build | No; these are claims attributed to alleged beta text |
An early leak matching a broad official detail does not establish that its plot, characters, or mechanics are accurate. The confirmed baseline is the official announcement; the specific features in the reports should remain labeled as allegations unless The Pokémon Company confirms them.

The games are announced for Nintendo Switch 2, so that is the console to plan around based on the current official platform announcement. Their release is planned for 2027; the announcement does not establish that the games, a console bundle, or specific accessories are currently available.
Rank #4
- Don the role of a Pokémon Trainer as you travel through Kanto
- Discover a new species of Pokémon with the Pokémon Lets Go series
- Catch Pokémon in the wild using a gentle throwing motion with either a Joy-Con controller or a Poké Ball Plus accessory, which will light up, vibrate, and make sounds to bring your adventure to life
- See the world in style by customizing Pikachu and your Trainer with a selection of outfits
- Connect to Pokémon GO* to transfer caught Kanto-region Pokémon, including Alolan and Shiny forms, as well as the newly discovered Pokémon, Meltan, from that game to this one
For now, the safest expectation is an open-world adventure across islands and ocean, with ecosystems and natural obstacles shaping travel. Details such as Majinization, island totals, underwater exploration, procedural generation, and the alleged story cast should not be treated as promised features.
