Several waves of PlayStation Store delistings were reported in 2026, affecting catalogs associated with Nostra Games, CGI Lab, ThiGames and other publishers. But Sony has not publicly confirmed one coordinated purge, given a definitive total, or said that AI-generated content was the reason for any specific removal. Here is what the reports establish—and what remains unknown.
What was reported removed from the PlayStation Store?
News outlets and storefront observers reported separate removals at different times in 2026. Their counts and descriptions are attributed to those sources, not to an official Sony tally.

TechRadar’s April coverage also referred to earlier delistings, including RandomSpin titles in 2025. These reports describe distinct episodes; they do not establish that Sony announced or carried out one unified campaign.
Why did PlayStation remove the games?
The public reports reviewed do not establish Sony’s reason for removing any particular publisher’s games. GamesRadar quoted Casstlgames, identified as manager and administrator of Nostra’s official Discord server: “Unfortunately, PlayStation Store has removed our games, and we’re unable to provide an exact reason because it wasn’t shared with us either,” (GamesRadar+).

That is an account from a publisher-community representative, not a Sony statement. The reports do not provide a case-specific notice or enforcement finding that explains the decisions involving Nostra, CGI Lab, ThiGames or the other named publishers.
Does this mean Sony banned AI games or shovelware?
No blanket ban is established by these reports. Some coverage associated titles with AI-generated assets or described them as shovelware, spam or trophy-farming games. Those labels and associations do not show that Sony used AI generation, trophy design or a particular definition of shovelware as its removal criterion. No Sony statement in the reviewed material confirms an AI-specific policy or rationale for these delistings.

TechRadar described developer concerns about storefront quality control and discoverability. Those concerns help explain why the removals drew attention, but they are not evidence of Sony’s enforcement basis. The reports also noted that other publishers described as trophy-farming publishers apparently remained listed, which further cautions against inferring a universal rule from the reported removals.
What do PlayStation’s terms say?
PlayStation’s US Terms of Service, revised March 2025, state: “Do not use the PSN or any of its products for, or associate them with, spam or any commercial activity.” The terms also describe Store content as licensed for personal, private, non-commercial use and reserve rights to remove or block content associated with accounts and to discontinue certain content (PlayStation US Terms of Service).

These are general terms for the US version of the service. They provide context about Sony’s rules and reserved powers, but do not prove that Sony applied a particular clause to any publisher named in the reports. Their legal effect should not be assumed to be identical in every region.

The reports do not establish how delisting affects access for purchasers of any specific game, region or account, or whether a particular buyer has a remedy. Check the game’s current listing and regional PlayStation support information for your account rather than assuming that a delisting either removes access or leaves downloads and play unaffected.
