Which scene and version does the translation discuss?
The inscription appears in “Arthas’ Betrayal,” the Human campaign’s ending cinematic in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Arthas returns to Lordaeron and kills his father, King Terenas. The community post titled “I found the language inscribed on frostmourne” discusses runes from an earlier cut of that cinematic, rather than establishing a translation for every version of Frostmourne’s design. That distinction matters because the same page reports that the rune design was updated in 2008, using a design also seen in the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic intro, and changed again for Warcraft III: Reforged. The source describes two additional runes in the 2008 design. These are reported version-history details, not an official Blizzard explanation of the inscription.

Blizzard’s official material supplies story context, not a rune-by-rune translation. Its official timeline describes Arthas as a Death Knight acting for the Scourge. A separate Blizzard article calls Frostmourne a cursed runeblade whose power consumed him: Blizzard’s account of Frostmourne. Neither source confirms that the cinematic inscription is Eltharin or validates the fan post’s glosses.
