The invitation behind “Players Are Being Invited to Play Gigantic Again” was for a private, limited-time Gigantic event scheduled for October 5–6, 2023. Those dates have passed. The event described new and returning content, but the invitation did not confirm a full relaunch or establish that the game is currently available.
What was the Gigantic Throwback Event?
Insider Gaming reported on October 3, 2023, that it had obtained an invitation email after a post appeared on the Gigantic subreddit. The invitation described a special private event for invited fans, scheduled to run from October 5 at 12 p.m. PT through October 6 at 9 p.m. PT, 2023. It was a past play event, not a newly announced event in 2026.
Participation required reviewing and accepting a Closed Gigantic Playtest Agreement. According to Insider Gaming’s report, the agreement barred participants from streaming, taking screenshots, recording, or discussing the event outside private channels.
What did the invitation say players could try?
The invitation advertised a mix of familiar content and changes made for the event. These were features described for that playtest, not confirmation of what a later retail release or current service would include.
