Pokémon GO’s 9th Anniversary Party ran from July 1 to July 6, 2025, in each player’s local time. It introduced party-hat Ivysaur and Venusaur and anniversary-coin Gimmighoul, with event-wide friendship and encounter bonuses plus separate daily windows for Egg hatching, catch XP and Stardust. The event and its research deadlines have passed; its announced tickets and Web Store offers should not be treated as currently available.
When did the 9th Anniversary Party run?
The event was scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Those dates are historical, not an upcoming event schedule. Niantic’s official event announcement is the source for the schedule and details below.

Which Pokémon appeared, and what debuted?
New event Pokémon
The announcement listed party-hat Ivysaur and party-hat Venusaur as debuts. It also introduced Gimmighoul holding a 9th anniversary coin, with a chance to encounter Shiny Gimmighoul for the first time in Pokémon GO. Golden Lure Modules did not attract this anniversary-coin Gimmighoul.
Wild encounters and raids
- Wild encounters included party-hat Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. The announcement also said First Partner Pokémon would appear on certain dates, but did not identify those dates in the announcement.
- One-star raids featured cake-hat Pikachu and party-hat Eevee. The event offered increased shiny chances for these two Pokémon in raids.
What bonuses were available?
Bonuses throughout the event
- Increased chances to become Lucky Friends and to obtain Lucky Pokémon in trades.
- Friendship levels increased faster when players opened Gifts, traded or battled together.
- PokéStops had a chance to turn gold without a Golden Lure Module.
- Spinning a PokéStop with a Golden Lure Module could award 9 or 99, or possibly more, Gimmighoul Coins.
- Coin-holding Gimmighoul could appear with a 9th Anniversary Special Background.
- Party hats found in the wild could award items or event-themed encounters.

What research and tickets did the announcement offer?
Free research
Event-themed Field Research offered items and encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including a possible encounter with coin-holding Gimmighoul. Free Timed Research offered XP, Stardust and event-themed encounters, including party-hat Bulbasaur, party-hat Wobbuffet and coin-holding Gimmighoul. The announcement did not publish the exact tasks.

The event announcement listed this ticket at US$1.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier. Rewards included one Super Incubator, one Max Mushroom and an encounter with coin-holding Gimmighoul. Tasks had to be completed and rewards claimed by July 6, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Masterwork Research: Wish Granted
The announcement listed Masterwork Research: Wish Granted at US$4.99 or local equivalent, with an encounter with Shiny Jirachi as its outcome. Buyers had to open Pokémon GO during the event to receive the research; after receiving it, they could complete it at any time. Players who purchased it or had received it previously were eligible for double Incense, Daily Adventure Incense and Lucky Egg duration during the event.

Web Store ticket box and cosmetics
The announced 9th Anniversary Party Ultra Ticket Box was listed on the Web Store at US$4.99 or local equivalent. It included the event Timed Research ticket, early access to a Party Hat avatar item, three Max Potions, three Max Revives and one Star Piece. The announcement also advertised double Reward Points on eligible Web Store purchases.
Team Valor, Team Mystic and Team Instinct GO Wristbands were announced as in-game avatar items. Event stickers were available from PokéStops, Gifts or the in-game shop. These ticket prices and offers describe the 2025 announcement and do not establish present availability.
