PlayStation’s September 3, 2026 recap covered two broadcasts—State of Play and State of Play Japan—with news on more than 30 games. The announcements ranged from new PS5 games and release dates to expansions, demos, a PlayStation Plus update, a LEGO console replica, and a Resident Evil film trailer. The dates below reflect what Sony announced on September 3, 2026; release plans can change. Sony’s official roundup is the source for the event details.
New games and major reveals
CONQ: Crown of No Quarter
The first trailer introduced a shared open-world warfare game built around faction conflict, armies, land and sea battles, and sieges using siege engines.
Daba: Land of Water Scar
Dark Star Games’ China Hero Project title is coming to PS5 in spring 2027. Its trailer follows a clayman through a world where water has run dry.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3
The PS5 game is planned for 2027. Players will create a hero, develop a fighting style, and face powerful opponents.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World
A new trailer showed two young Monster Wranglers and the monsters they befriend. The PS5 game is dated December 3, 2026.
Final Fantasy Resonance
The trailer showed HD-2D action and Sephiroth as an opponent. A first-chapter demo was available on PlayStation Store on announcement day, with save data carrying over to the full game. Sony gave the game an October 22, 2026 release date.
Gundam Rogue Orbit
The game launches March 5, 2027. The trailers highlighted combat, weapons, Tactical Skills, mobile suit parts, color customization, and MOD Skins.
Hunter’s Moon
This first-person folk-horror game is set over one night and draws on the history of English witch hunts. Sony announced an October 25, 2026 PS5 release.

Keeper
Double Fine’s wordless atmospheric puzzle adventure launched on PS5 on September 3, 2026, the day of the recap. It follows an awakened lighthouse and its seabird companion.
Metro 2039
The event showed the first PS5 Pro gameplay for this single-player survival shooter, which follows the Stranger in post-apocalyptic Moscow. The announced release date is February 4, 2027.

Rhapsody in Scarlet
Konami’s action adventure mixes 1920s New York, jazz, and magical beasts. The Japan broadcast included a story trailer and details about customizable combos combining magic and beast abilities.
Rev. Noir
Konami showed new gameplay trailers for the RPG, first revealed in February, and confirmed a 2027 release.

A time-limited PS5 demo was announced with three playable characters, boss battles, and more than 10 hours of content. The full game is planned for spring 2027.
The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes
The series’ first console game is a PS5 roguelite coming in 2027. Its original story is overseen by series author Daisuke Aizawa.
Uncanyon
Graceful Decay’s puzzle-first PS5 adventure is planned for 2027. Its central mechanic is controlling and exploring blended realities.
Where the Seeds Fall
The debut game from CygamesEdge is dated November 5, 2026, on PS5. It follows a soldier and a Fell Child down the World Tree toward a surface afflicted by the Blight.

World Phasebound Control Authority: WPCA
This action RPG is planned for PS5 in 2028. Set in Seoul, it follows a Containment Agent entering zones to confront supernatural phenomena.
Sequels, expansions, and game updates
Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown
Pearl Abyss announced an expansion for PlayStation Store on October 15. Captured on PS5 Pro, the trailer featured Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane.
Digimon Story Time Stranger: A Hero’s Eternal Legacy
This PS5 expansion is planned for 2027 and takes place three years after the main game. It introduces a new protagonist and partner, plus around 50 new Digimon.
Echoes of Aincrad: Sword Art Online – Genesis Maidens
The first DLC for Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad is due in winter. It explores the early floors of Aincrad, brings Mito into the fight, and adds gameplay features.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
The third and final entry in Square Enix’s remake project launches April 8, 2027, on PS5. The deep dive showed world exploration, the Highwind, grapple guns, chocobos, and the FITS combat system.
Ghost of Yōtei
Sony dated the Complete Edition—which includes the Most Wanted combat survival mode and Echoes of Sekigahara expansion—for October 1, 2026. The Japan broadcast also featured a trailer and comments from Japanese voice actor Fairouz Ai.

Gran Turismo 7
A two-part Spec IV update was announced for October and December 2026. Its planned additions include two circuits, 12 cars, Online Drift Trials, Shuffle Races, and a Family mode. Sony’s recap links to a further breakdown by Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi.
Maneater 2
The PS5 sequel is coming in 2027. It is set in an island theme park and puts players in control of a bull shark.

The recap featured a launch trailer naming Logan, Jean Grey, and Team X, alongside a global PS5 launch date of September 15, 2026.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
The PS5 expansion is planned for 2027, with new monsters, challenges, hunting actions, a locale, and a continuation of the Expedition Team’s story. The Japan presentation named Skybound Eyrie, Boost Action, and Gundoraja, and showed a Tokyo Game Show demo hunt against Arakeeta.
Saros Zenith update
The free update for Saros is planned for later in 2026. It adds the Overlord Rush boss mode, Eclipse Layers New Game Plus, progression options, and accessibility features including a slow-game-speed option.
Stupid Never Dies
The PS5 game is dated October 21, 2026. Its trailer showed a zombie protagonist gaining abilities from monsters, and Sony announced a demo with save carryover.

Until Dawn 2
Firesprite’s choice-driven PS5 horror game is dated January 28, 2027. The trailer returned to Blackwood Sanitorium and visited Akishima Island. Firesprite is working with AdHoc Studio.

Fate/Extra Record
The full remake launches January 28, 2027, on PS5 and PS4. Its trailer showed an expanded Moon Holy Grail War and a revamped deck-building Command Card battle system.
Rematch
Sloclap’s online multiplayer football game is getting a Blue Lock collaboration. The PS5 release date announced for it is September 24, 2026.
PlayStation Plus
- Game Catalog: Mycopunk is planned for later in 2026.
- Premium Classics: Mega Man X: Command Mission was announced for September; Dino Crisis 2 and the original Ratchet & Clank are also planned for 2026.

LEGO PlayStation set
The collaboration recreates the original PlayStation console and controller in 1,911 pieces. The assembled set measures 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide and launched October 1, 2026.
Grand Theft Auto VI limited-edition DualSense controllers
Black and White editions were announced for November 19, 2026, with preorders opening September 10. Sony’s recap also gave November 19 as the PS5 release date for GTA VI.
Resident Evil film
The opening segment of Zach Cregger’s film was shown, ahead of its planned cinema release on September 18, 2026. The recap describes medical courier Bryan getting caught in a Raccoon City outbreak.
How to read the release dates
The announcements span full games, DLC, demos, updates, service additions, physical products, and a film; a trailer or demo announcement does not necessarily mean a new full game is launching. Sony’s recap gives exact dates for some entries, but others have only a season, year, or “later in 2026” window. Those broader windows are not exact launch dates, and the recap does not establish current prices, stock, regional storefront availability, or whether schedules changed after September 3, 2026.
